Title: RSQ (Rubbish School Quiz)
Post by: Rubbish2407 on July 27, 2014, 12:31:33 PM
Croeso RSQ'ers. Hopefully a nice and easy RSQ for you all. The reveal shall be Tuesday 5th August at 7:30pm.

PM me with each answer on a new line, with the appropriate numbering, if neither of these are adhered too, there will be point penalties, +3 per offence.

You must pass one question out of 1-10 and receive a score of zero for that question, Question 11 must be answered.

Your score for each question is the number of people who give the same correct answer. The answer most commonly given is called the sheep. If you give an incorrect answer, you will receive the sheep score +5.

You are not allowed to do research such as using Google to come up with answers, and you are not allowed to ask others for help with your answers. If anyone needs to cheat on this quiz - you didn't pay attention in school.

Objections are allowed during the reveal, though the success of which will largely depend on whether your username is Hutch. My decision will likely be unfair, and final.

All answers are taken from Wikipedia unless stated otherwise.

My Daughter is taking her GCSE's next year in the following subjects.

You must pass one of the following ten questions:

1. Welsh, Since 1st April 1996 there are 22 Principal areas (Counties) in Wales. Name one.

2. German, Name one of the German Football World Cup 2014 squad.

3. History, The 100 year war actually took place between 1337 and 1453. Name a year encompassed by those two dates ending in an even number.

4. Physics, There are countless Scientific Laws named after people. Name one.

5. Biology, A normal Human arm and hand contain 32 bones. Name one.

6. French, There are 18 Cities or Towns in France with a population of over 150,000 people. Name one.

7. Chemistry, There are 17 Chemical Elements starting with the letters R, S and Q (actually none begin with Q). Please name one,

8. English, Shakespeare wrote 37 plays, 16 of which are listed as Comedies. Name one.

9. Mathematics, There are 25 prime numbers below 100. Give me one.

10. Religious Education, Name one of the 27 books of the New Testament.

This question cannot be passed

11) Give an answer another participant has given for one of Questions 1-10

By my calculations this could be a very low scoring quiz with a minimum of 16 possible answers on any given question.

Good luck everyone except Hutch.

Hi Scotty,

I'm grounded with work on Thursday and Friday this week. Then I'm away for the weekend and I think I'll need Monday to recover so Tuesday is the earliest I can do it other than this Wednesday which doesn't give Hutch much time to google the answers.

Five in so far:

Redsgirl

Later.

Liking the range of subjects. Just goes to prove how poor my general knowledge is.

The below question is open to interpretation no given how it's worded?

4. Physics, There are countless Scientific Laws named after people. Name one

I just had a quick count on Wiki and there's 200 odd of them so if you think you know one, you probably do.

Okay, thought it was straight forward but an example would be "Einsteins General theroy of relativity". So I need the persons name and the Law. Anyone who has answered one or the other can send me both if they want.

The question was poorly written.

Rather than be a clever dick, I came into the thread to make that point. You didn't pick up on it so I assume my answer is good.

You then realise later on and change the wording of the question.

Am I expected to constantly monitor the thread in case you re-word questions?

It doesn't matter, I can't win anyway. :-)

Based on the below wording, you can't penalise for only naming the law. That is what you asked for.

4. Physics, There are countless Scientific Laws named after people. Name one

what does 'faraday a law is either induction or electrolysis' mean in english? I learnt about it in physics at school...

Hi Rob,

There's two Laws by Faraday, one's called Faraday's Law of Induction and the other is called Faraday's Law of Electrolysis. There isn't one which is called Faraday's Law.

Okay, if it was badly worded I apologise. I think most people knew what answers I was looking for?

MintTrav has gone for 1750M

And the correct answer is 1085 Metres so MintTrav is the Champ.

Congrats and best of luck with your RSQ.

Unlucky to DWH, better luck next time.

Damn. I was so tempted to guess 100,000m to swerve the QM job.

I know that the highest mountain in Ireland is 3414 ft, so I guessed Snowdon might be a bit more, say about 5,000. Surprised it is less.

Bugger.

Broke well, early pace, looked promising, faded after 2 furlongs, disappointing. May benefit from bring gelded

I always seem to end up nearer the bottom than the top, & I really tried hard on this one.

Anyway, well done to all the smartarses who finished above me.

Sorry I was not around for the reveal, I was working last night.

Great quiz, well presented & run.

Thanks.

I'm only up to the 2nd question but for that one you are clearly accepting incorrectly spelled names and half names. Consistency please.
