Title: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: muckthenuts on July 29, 2014, 03:24:07 AM Just wanted to check what the general consensus would be. Opener is 26/20 after 54 and jammer is a supernova reg "tiagoferreir".

expensive to call innit. Title: Re: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: PathFinder on July 29, 2014, 09:36:11 AM I echo Patrick's comment. Don't forget he's UTG as well. Just be a lot of better spots to put your 100bb in pre flop.
Title: Re: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: muckthenuts on July 29, 2014, 12:16:09 PM Yeah i guess you guys are right.
I forgot to mention but he snap jammed. Utg pretty much snap folded. Had he tank jammed i prob would have folded lol. In game i felt he wouldn't have AA or KK that often with such a thoughtlessly huge jam, which looks soo much like an iso vs the short stack. I had 2 blockers as well and with the ~$10 overlay felt i'd be getting the right price to call it off vs a flip. AQs also crossed my mind too for sure. I called and he had JJ. Title: Re: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: pleno1 on July 29, 2014, 04:47:03 PM The short stack will often have anti blockers though
Title: Re: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: muckthenuts on July 29, 2014, 11:28:01 PM He had AK :D
Title: Re: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: lolwutwasthat on August 05, 2014, 04:30:47 PM I'd gii here. Unlikely we are beat, we are "underrepped" so he can iso jam alot wider. P.s this is also 50nl
Title: Re: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: Honeybadger on August 05, 2014, 06:40:25 PM P.s this is also 50nl It being 50NL is an argument in favour of folding, not calling! Title: Re: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: WotRTheChances on August 06, 2014, 05:14:00 PM I'd gii here. Unlikely we are beat, we are "underrepped" so he can iso jam alot wider. P.s this is also 50nl I mean we're not that under-repped, people flat AK and AA/KK semi-regularly vs UTG opens. Also the fact we are under-repped doesn't matter that much in this spot imo (although obv if we'd 3-bet and it was a cold-4 it was be even more of a fold), the bb is still facing a UTG open, a flat and a 20bb cram and wants to jam 100bb from the bb, think JJ is the worst you'll see, and don't think you're ever seeing AQ tbh. As Pgolden1 said, shorty will often have at least 1 blocker against us... and utg will sometimes too. Title: Re: Kind of interesting preflop spot Post by: Honeybadger on August 07, 2014, 12:02:20 PM The Golden One actually suggested shorty would often have anti-blockers, not blockers. i.e. he will often have a pair.
