I think I'm folding now, dominated by a lot of his hands and we only really like hitting one of the 6s. I might check this flop back for pot control and then bet none scary turns.

surely the best you are is flipping vs something like Ahtcxx no flush draw?

he'd jam AT and A9 etc.

More interested in if you'd bet the flop or not? Is it just trival bet/fold?

I'm not really a fan of 3 betting this type of hand even on the button.  Much prefer double suited higher end stuff.

If you were trying to get a good balance between bet fold/bet get it in/check, wouldn't this fall into the check category?

Don't really like the 3bet much. Any specific reason for it dave?

need some low board coverage and this one of the better hands for it, maybe on dbl s combos is enough tho.

In general I like the 3b; if he plays well to 3bs, though (sometimes 4bing, calling a wide range without plans to fold when he has a piece postflop, folds hands that play badly) and the rest of the table plays bad, though, it's a pretty bad 3b and I'm happy to call.

As played now I would fold, but think it's a good spot to check behind. We're not doing particularly well vs a range that calls our c-bet and without a pair we're only really happy getting all the money in on 8 turns. This is also a co-ordinated board where he's likely to have something decent.

For me, this is a pretty standard 3bet - (this actually is prolly the worst type of opponent to 3b with this hand mind, given he'll be opening the CO loser than most, and calling close to 100% here (defo a mistake overall, although clearly not when I have this hand specifically) but I still think 3betting this hand is significantly better than calling with it as it plays pretty poorly multi-way and gives us some strong coverage on low boards. For my mind it's one of those where I'm really not a fan of calling or folding so by default 3betting becomes the "stnd".

The added 20bb of stack depth makes it much nicer to play as a 3bet too as it makes i) it tougher for him to 4b, and ii) easier to play for us when he does.

I guess it has a reasonable amount to do with style as some strategies will benefit less from 3betting these hands but the way I play I actually consider it fairly imperitive to my overall strategy that I take spots like this pre-flop. Obviously JT98ds is a miles better hand but it's hard to get dealt that :D

If you were trying to get a good balance between bet fold/bet get it in/check, wouldn't this fall into the check category?

I would agree with that certainly, I maybe fell into the "A high board lets c-bet" trap. We're just checking to call most/all turn cards right? Any turns we can start bluffing on??

Another broadway would be good.  Might need to bluff river as well tho

If you check the flop and he bets a turn of say 3c, do you call with a view to bluffing a bluffable river eg Qs
