Title: HU Hands - Same Villian Post by: shipitgood on August 22, 2014, 04:52:47 PM Games are from a HU Speed Sit and Go, 1.5k starting stack, blinds start at 15/30, 5 minute blind levels.
At the start of the game player is brand new to us, so are readless. Hand 1, about 3rd/ 4th hand in we have Ks Th, both stacks are pretty even. We min raise to 60 and get called. (pot 120) Flop 4c 5d 4d. Villian Checks, we bet 45 villain calls (210) Turn is Aspades, feel it's a good card for us and a good one to barrel on can't see them having many aces at all. Check - We bet 140, villain calls (490) River; 9h, villain checks, we check right behind. I felt villain was never folding whatever he had called flop / turn with, unless he had a busted flush draw then chances are we have the best hand here. Feel we have to check the river, anyone firing a 3rd bullet? Villian wins the hand with Ace 7. We play another couple of hands, something similar arises where villain is really passive with top pair, and wins at show down. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hand 2, OTB we have Ts Jh, blinds still 15/30. We have 1195, Villian has 1760. We min raise, call (120) Flop 3d Qh 9h. Check we bet 50 villain calls (220). Turn 2s Villian Checks we Check?? Interesting to hear peoples views on this? I checked because the player was pretty sticky (and passive) just calling down. I know why I checked here, but feel this should be a bet a lot of the time. River Kd, decided to bet big given how sticky opponent was. He checks, we bet 210 villain calls with Qc 4d ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hand 3 we are on the button again, we have 1.5k each. Qc 3c we min raise, call. (120) Flop Qh 3d 2d Quite interesting villain donks for 90. It's the first time he has donked, before with top pair type hands he has just checked passive style. He could possibly have a good q, QK, AQ, would proably expect a 3 bet with AQ. He has some queens, but not a whole lot. Could be a set of 22, or 33 but unlikely we have the 3 blocker. A lot of the time feel it's going to be a draw, flush or straight. We raise to 270, villain calls the 180,. (660). I think I should be raising slightly bigger here. Turn is a Tc, pretty much a blank, he could have Q10 but going back to the flop I don't think he's raising many queens here. Villian checks, we move all in for 1170. Looks a bit unorthodox, but against the general player population at this level I reckon i'm getting called here a large % of the time given the flop action, it's seldom they are folding a draw despite the odds. Thoughts on the over bet jam turn? Villian called and showed Td 6d, river blanked. Hand 1, Ace is a bad card to rep on the turn as he has a lot more aces here than me. So check turn. Hand2, bet turn, bomb any A K or 9 river. Makes sense I guess! Hand 3, bit of a split pot between betting smaller OTT /Jamming Title: Re: HU Hands - Same Villian Post by: Katais on August 26, 2014, 12:10:59 PM Some feedback I've received... Sure we'd check back this flop with Ax sometimes but we'd bet it sometimes also. Even if he does have Ax more often than us, is that enough reason to check back? Can still fold out some stuff, and when he calls alot of the time it will be with a draw which we can check behind and beat on blank rivers. edit* like betting turn smaller, 100-120 max. ------------ Bet sizing on hand 3 seems crazy, we probably lose all 3x, 2x, A4, A5, 45, 46, and just bare flush draws that haven't turned a pair. Just bet enough to set up a river shove. --------- Hand 2 is wp v villain as described imo. Turn bet in hand 1 should have been smaller. hand 3's quite interesting, really unusual doing the 2 x pot turn jam. It was just a feel thing, felt I was getting called a lot (by this player). |
