Title: Orlando Hotels help
Post by: Woodsey on October 11, 2014, 09:20:23 PM
Needs some help to sort out some accomodation for my old mum and her other half if anyone has some info please. They have randomly booked a flight there and despite me suggesting they head to the coast, they want to stay in or around Orlando for whatever reason (don't ask me why).

They are not going to the parks as they are too old, they just want to be somewhere that will have a bunch of stuff to do like shops, restaurants etc and chill in the sun, they can't rent a car as they are too old and will be reliant on taxis. I know Orlando is a big area can anyone rec an area they won't have to travel too far please to what they want to do please? i.e. A compactish area.

Probably up to $250 a night would be ok.

If they don't want to go for a resort kinda experience then if it's Orlando, just stay on International Drive, any major hotel and yr near what Orlando has to offer, not a great deal imo.

Yr instincts are right, persuade yr Mum to go and stay in Sarasota or Naples or somewhere like that

For a resort hotel in Orlando, away from International Drive,  the only one I know is this - deece as far as this kind of experience goes - does your mum play golf ?

Cheers mate, Used to play but too old now. Ok will check that out, I drive is the only place I know, problem is they can't really just walk anywhere there.

Anyone know anything about Kissimee or Lake Buena Vista area?

I've never been myself but my sister has several times. She prefers Beuna Vista as she says its more like a self contained resort and everything is on hand.
Might be worth looking into if your mum doesn't want to have to hire a car.

They would like to hire a car, but when you are over 80 it's a hassle trying to rent one unfortunately. Not sure they would be safe anyway, with driving on the right etc...
