Why did you bet the turn?

Why did you bet the turn?

Well, at the time this seemed like a pretty good hand to bet because the guy had a very low fold to cbet on flop and turn (14 on flop and 20 on turn), building a pot with a hand with this much equity didn't seem like a bad thing, and keeping the lead with a backdoor flush draw etc seemed fine too.

However, thinking about it, the sample we have isn't great (only 100 hands in which time the guy has called a turn cbet 4/5 times) and isn't enough to justify a turn bet on its own. I still think it's kinda close, but checking turn seems to have more merit than betting on reflection.

I'm not entirely sure what value hands I have that check the turn. All sets continue, AK cc and KQcc check, I'm not sure what else does.

would have gone for a check/call OTT, and followed that up with a check/call on OTR.

As played, it would appear he's representing 75 or something like Tc7c, or maybe even Ts 7s as i feel like if he had a made hand that could beat 86 then you'd have heard about it before the river given the board texture is rather moist. Perhaps Kc 9c makes some sense but that is just one hand...

There are plenty of likely bluffing candidates too, 97, 7x Xc,  9c Xc but the question is... IS HE ACTUALLY BLUFFING, EVER? Probably not.

Could he be shoving 6c 9c for value? mmm maybe.

Think I'd fold though.

yeah i agree that checking will be way better for your overall gameplan, immediate equity and balance etc.

I'd x/c x/c x/c definitely agree with xing the turn if we bet flop though.
