Title: 50nl HU Hand, rivered trips Post by: shipitgood on October 15, 2014, 06:14:55 PM There's only been about 15 hands played, we no massive reads and so far no hand has got to showdown.
Only real read is opponents bet sizing, he always seems to be betting massive - about 80% 90% - pot if he bets. We have 6d 5d in the BB (£49), villain has £46. Villian min raises £1, I 3 bet to £3. He calls. Pot is £6 Flop; 8s 6c 3d. I bet £3, opponent calls. (£12) Turn 2h I check, villain bets £7.50. I call. Is this a mistake? I called thinking he had some floats in their AJ, Ace 10, KQ, general broad way type hands, also his bet was smaller than every other time he had made a bet.. Plan was to call and hopefully to get to show down unimproved, folding to a river bet. (£27) River; 6h I checked. He bets £19 with £14 behind. I call. Final pot £64. Wonder what everyone thinks about leading the river? And (pretty much readless) best to raise the river bet, or just call? Title: Re: 50nl HU Hand, rivered trips Post by: PaintingByNumbers on October 15, 2014, 07:11:21 PM I think you're line is fine (though checking the flop is probably more common here).
Leading the river doesn't make much sense to me (though if you think he's rarely bluffing and won't always be betting overpairs then it could be justifiable). To decide whether to raise the river, you've got to make a judgement about what he's going to call with. If you beat more than half (maybe a little more to be on the safe side) then raise. On the river, I thought it was pretty close at the time between raising and calling. He had JJ. Think there are too many hands that'll call V the vvv few hands that have us beat to flat.
Title: Re: 50nl HU Hand, rivered trips Post by: Paul Walters on October 16, 2014, 12:51:19 PM Wouldnt 3b this hand, you make the 2nd best a lot when he calls. Would 3b bigger if i was to 3b
Flop/turn ok. ( If you dont 3b you avoid these spots on there turn) River, Checking good, i dont think he has alot here very often. Def raise river with so little behind, he's never going to fold anything here unless its air. Cheers everyone for the responses. Title: Re: 50nl HU Hand, rivered trips Post by: AlexMartin on October 17, 2014, 03:11:31 AM Yeah I think it's more jam than a call.
