Title: Lost my phone.
Post by: RED-DOG on November 22, 2014, 07:29:33 PM
I lost my phone in a busy car park at about 2pm today.

If I ring it, it rings but no one answers.

I've called it lots of times and I've sent a text offering a good reward.

What do you think might have happened to it?

Not unlucky, just total stupidity. It is horrible, but it's done now so that's that.

So many shoulda's though.

Should have backed up more frequently.

Should have installed a tracking app of some kind.

Should have put a bit of paper with a contact number and reward inside the case.

Should have been more careful.

I'm not sure if I should. I want to continue to be able to ring it.

Block outgoing calls only. Have you been back to the car park to look for it?

Yes. I missed it after the first two minutes.

I don't think anyone is using it, I haven't had an engaged tone yet.

Will they block block outgoing only if I ask them to?

Yes, I am sure you can block outgoing calls only.

My friend had a similar situation only a few weeks ago, but eventually found it under his car seat!

It might well be laying on the ground somewhere, under a car or something?

Have you tried getting someone to ring the number whilst you retrace your steps? You might hear it ringing then.

That is also a thought that occurred to me.

Yes. been back, ringing and listening.

It's a small car park and I lost it right near the exit. I even found my glasses, (run over) which I lost at the same time.

You lost your 'phone AND your bins at the same time?

What exactly were you up to to lose both?

I can't work out why it isn't turned off.

Maybe nobody has found it so it is still on?

There is no where for it to be where I couldn't see and hear it unless someone has picked it up.

my theory is an old lady has picked it up and doesn't kniw how to answer it and has perhaps handed it in somewhere that has now closed, or it has been run over and picked up but is broken in such a way as to make it unanswerable.

(Happened to a friend of mine)

No.

Dads with daughters who gallivant around the country in cars never have their phone on silent.

Is there a security office for the car park/near by, perhaps handed in somewhere?

You gone back to where you lost it and tried to call it? It might still be there unfound..

I once unwittingly lobbed my mobile into the food bin at McDonald's, it was on my try as I emptied it into the bin. Once I had tracked back possible places I could have lost in I tried phoning it and heard it ringing from there lol.
