Obviously we're pretty near the top of our range, but I felt at the time there was a pretty legitimate case for folding. Opener is fairly standard, opens a little too much utg (19%) and not quite enough everywhere else, but there's nothing else special about him. Has not shown down a bluff in any of the hands we have on him. MP is a bad nitreg, folds too much and isn't really very positionally aware. Basically 3bs all his good hands, so we can safely rule out AK, AA, KK, QQ from his preflop calling range. Possibly JJ too, although that's right on the borderline. Can have a bunch of higher card spade combos too. I tanked for quite a long time otr, and was really not sure what to do. Seemed really marginal either way. What do we reckon? Kinda like raising the turn too, we are oop after all and utg is going to have a hard time continuing with some overpair hands that call it off on the turn.
Can't see river card. Title: Re: The tactical turtleneck, Lana. The tactleneck. Post by: pleno1 on November 24, 2014, 12:22:55 AM i dont think havign a check / raise range on this board is very good at all because we called from the sb and have very few 5's

That was the other thing I wasn't sure about. If I'm in such a weird spot otr if bet into, at which point do we take the lead to ensure we get some value rather than just seeing it get checked through? i dont think havign a check / raise range on this board is very good at all because we called from the sb and have very few 5's This is basically why I didn't x/r flop, don't think I would x/r anything here. But yh, if we think most worse hands than ours are checking through the river, and the nut flush is probably dealing with it and calling anyway, at what point should we be going about taking the lead? This seems like a positive. Gonna take our opponents forever to figure out we are unbalanced too. Title: Re: The tactical turtleneck, Lana. The tactleneck. Title: Re: The tactical turtleneck, Lana. The tactleneck. Post by: KingPush on December 04, 2014, 10:52:50 PM I like it, not folding river. You seem to be worried about losing at showdown a lot whereas if you fold these types of hands you'll just be losing at non-showdown too much, you can't avoid coolers.
