Title: Obese people to be treated as invalids
Post by: BigAdz on December 18, 2014, 09:31:19 AM
Oh come on!

No doubt the "do good" squad on here will be sending PMs to mods about my opinions.....but

Its almost a green light to encourage obesity, isn't it?

"Ooo, shall I stop eating too much of the wrong stuff, and exercise, or keep doing this stuff and get help for the rest of my life???".

So the fat people now get access to the parking spaces nearest to the Supermarket......yeah, that makes sense!

i think a lot of very obese people have got psychological/emotional/depression problems. seeing as how there are obese people a million times more intelligent than me there clearly isn't a simple eat less, exercise more solution to a lot of peoples' problems. they probably know that already. highly intelligent people smoke/take drugs/drink too much. highly intelligent people are fat. eating is addictive?

obesity is a fascinating complex subject imo

I don't know why exactly, but this bit of your post struck me as strange. Sort of half defensive, half aggressive, if you see what I mean.

I suppose it just seems odd that you are complaining about the fact that someone might complain.

I have no axe to grind BTW, It just piqued my interest.

Yep I lolled too, wp BigAdz.

But then again if you recommend fat people park further away because it's beneficial for them to get some exercise does that make you part of the "do-good" squad too??

It just piqued my interest that this level of irony didn't pique RED-DOG's interest. Maybe he's being half defensive?

Anyway, maybe fat people on benefits should pick up less cash? This way they can only afford to buy rice!

The most annoying aspect of this particular court is their tendency to over-reach with their judgements.  The man in question said "I don't see myself as disabled. We hope the outcome is that it's not OK just to fire a person because they're fat, if they're doing their job properly."

So the court then rules that he *is* disabled and *can't* do his job properly because of this, but his employer will have to make special arrangements.

The same court ordered insurance companies to cut annuity payments to men and increase car insurance premiums for young women in defiance of a clause in the relevant directive specifically allowing such gender differences.  They did this for purely ideological reasons and their absurd pursuit of an Orwellian style "equality".

You're piqued too?

Well you know what they say, nothing propinks like propinquity.

What makes this fantastic is that the definition of obese is so marginal.  I'm a couple of stone overweight because I like eating foie gras and I love alcohol.

Now I'll be able to park in restricted parking bays when I'm buying my rum.  What's not to like?

WP Adz agree with your OP and extra merit points for getting in before Woodsey

Its interesting.

I have been classed as morbidly obese on a few occasions, yet I can still tie my shoe laces/wipe my own backside etc, and at 6 foot. can still fit in a pair of sub 40" waist trousers.

For twenty years I smoked 30 a day.

For 25 plus years I expect I drank more than 25 pints a week, and some.

I would be horrified if someone suggested I was disabled. Others just see it as a meal ticket....literally.

i aint an invalid i am a cripple
i dont want parking spaces closer to the supermarket i just want them wide enough so i can open the door fully wide so i can get in and out of it

give the fat people blue badges and make blue badge parking spaces the furthest from the shops IMHO save them being taken up by "i'll only be a minute" fly by nights

and give us cripples a chance to get parked in a wide bay and the fat people exercise walking to and from the shops

make a new badge for the OAPs and those than have difficulty walking and put them nearer the shops
