Title: Reads on nl100 population Post by: KingPush on January 10, 2015, 07:32:28 PM I know this isn't strictly hand analysis but thought this would be the best place for it.
From my limited time at nl100 it seems everyone is more aggressive pre flop and more aggressive on flop and turn and then just bets the top of their range on the river. Has/does anyone play these stakes currently and feel people play differently to this or have any understanding of if they play otherwise. Cheers for any help. Lower stakes/weaker players tend to exercise more "front-end" aggression, as pre-flop is the simplest and most educated part of the game people tend to be more "up for it" with aggression pre-flop but lack the sophistication for aggressive post-flop play, hence they tend to be aggressive pre-flop, or at least much more aggressive pre-flop than post, and this trend echoes down the streets, high pre-flop aggression, high flop aggression, fairly weak turn aggression. As you go up the stakes and encounter better players you'll generally find that the pre-flop aggression is more thoughtful, and in tune with an overall strategy of how they are playing, as opposed to just 3betting because you've opened the button. Look in your HEM for Agg.Factor by street and thats a pretty good indicator of the tough opponents from the weaker ones, and watch for this in your own game too. Effectively considering each street as part of a game plan, this is not "being balanced" it's just thinking a few steps ahead. I know of a good write up... by a RIO pro Title: Re: Reads on nl100 population Post by: ActionDanS on January 21, 2015, 11:39:56 AM Decided to go ahead and post it. Sorry if not allowed.
The write up is by a RIo pro who has coached me. This is from the adjustments he made for 200z and contains some advice. http://www.runitonce.com/nlhe/200z-writeup-my-top-10/ His theory knowledge is very strong but the way he can adjust to player conditions is also something that impresses me.
