Title: Doug Richards Bailed on Child Rape Claims Post by: Kmac84 on January 18, 2015, 02:02:40 PM Another of the high and mighty involved in potential abuse scandal. This time close friend and ally of David Cameron and George Osbourne.
Given the number oc charges levies against him, I'd assume there was some pretty conclusive evidence. But should those charged with such offences ever be bailed? Especially given his connections/resources. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/doug-richard-ex-dragons-den-star-4997986#ICID=sharebar_facebook Title: Re: Doug Richards Bailed on Child Rape Claims Post by: mulhuzz on January 18, 2015, 03:11:57 PM he hasn't been charged. he's been arrested and questioned.
so you can at least say that no, the police don't currently have all the evidence they require. so there's no reason not to bail him. Title: Re: Doug Richards Bailed on Child Rape Claims Post by: MintTrav on January 18, 2015, 04:10:38 PM Why would he not get bail? He's not likely to abscond and he's not likely to start committing other crimes.
I am nonplussed by this sentence: Especially given his connections/resources. Why should they be reasons not to give him bail? If anything, his resources mean that he is massively less likely to abscond than most.Title: Re: Doug Richards Bailed on Child Rape Claims Post by: Jon MW on January 18, 2015, 04:23:59 PM Why would he not get bail? The average member of the public isn't going to think of something they won't have thought of themselves. |
