Title: Re: I'm back! Did you miss me? Post by: Skippy on January 19, 2015, 01:20:11 PM I think Dave should write about his business interests too, that would be just as interesting as his poker stories.

Skippy - talking about my business stuff is something I'd actually really like to do, however I have a fair bit of business with a few different people and I'm kinda reticent to publish writing on it on the internet as I don't know how that would go down with the other parties, I would have to ask there permission and I'd feel a little weird doing that :D If there was specifics you wanted to know I'd happily answer questions here. Title: Re: I'm back! Did you miss me? Post by: SuuPRlim on January 20, 2015, 11:08:42 AM Don't know if its my PC but lines of text seem to be missing in the blog? Black type on green background doesn't help :( Can read it all now! :) You planning a big trip to Vegas this year? yes - in theory - I've managed thanks to my unrelenting charm and wit to get invited to "THE WEDDING" in the summer so am looking forward to that. Exactly what my plans are for poker out there I'm still a little undecided - as per every year the decision will boil down to how much money i win or lose in April + May :D for the last 4 years my 1st of 2nd best month of the year has come in may (seems a run-good month for me!) so i've generally headed out to Vegas on a decent upswing hence why I've gone for it so hard in big games out there :D not ended well for me !!! I'm guessing I'll go out mid-late june (better ive done in previous months the earlier i'll go!) play some cash games (just to show the yank regs I'm not totally busto!) have some fun and then play the main event before heading to L.A for Chris' wedding then come home. If i can manage to do that then I'll be delighted as that would be an amazing trip. I'm going to need to do a little better at poker over the coming few months to make that happen but there's a goal for me to aim for! Title: Re: I'm back! Did you miss me? That was a fun tournament :) I remember being AI in that tournament with Qs 3s vs KT and Qc Jc on Tc 5c 5s for 3 big blinds on the bubble of the £3k seat jump and coming away a winner :D Title: Re: I'm back! Post by: Simon Galloway on February 06, 2015, 01:52:18 PM Nice blog post Dave. I seem to be having an awful lot of chats that are incredibly repetitive with people first starting out in poker (or had a recent mishap..) and it goes like this:
Me: Here is your best plan. 2015, play $3R 180mans on stake, print money, save some of it. 2016, quit stake and play $3Rs for yourself. save some more of it. 2017+ add in some small mtts and take a shot once in a while at whatever you fancy. That is your best plan, it is better than your plan. What is your plan, btw? Them: Err, I've been running like shit, can't win a flip, is it ok if I spin the SM this week? Me: You can't win a flip, don't have any money and your cunning plan to get out of this is to win 40 flips that you can't win and go deep in the SM. THAT is your plan. Them. Yes. Me. I suppose on a similar vein that's how people get themselves in a pickle with credit cards. Even our resident troll didn't start out shooting for the top. Took him a few years of grinding away with the snipes and building up towards quality trolling over several years. Can't build Rome in a day. Title: Re: I'm back! Did you miss me?
