It's been pretty quiet in here recently, just wondering what peoples thoughts were on the turn bet size, and river.

50nl - We both have £50 before the hand starts.

It's the 1st / 2nd hand, we have no reads.

Button raises to £1.5, we 3 bet to £4.50 (£9)

Flop;   4d   Ts  7d

I bet £5, call (£19)

 8d,   bet £9, call. Pot is £37 we have £32 Behind. River  5s

I jam the river.

It's a pretty poor river card, don't know if I can check here to induce a bet, though expect them 2 check behind the vast majority of the time. Betting small just looks so strong. Was kinda hard because I was readless.

I think turn bet size is fine. What hands do you expect to get value from here? You say he checks behind most of his range but he would probably fold that range to a jam so why not check and let him bluff or turn a weak showdown hand into a bluff?

Prefer to flat this from the button but it's fine either way. I'm jamming river for sure. Should call with sets flushes and straights, I wouldn't worry about which one he has.

I prefer to just call your hand pre flop. At the start of a HU match I think it's better to 3-bet premiums and absolute trash. Then adapt your 3-betting range according to how he reacts to your 3-bets.

Turn bet size is a little too small.

River is absolutely a jam.

Wanna bet the turn bigger so the river jam isn't so big. So we bet £11 instead of £9, then the pot on the river is £41 and we have £30 back. Will get less hero folds for 3/4 pot than for 85% pot.

You could take it one street back and bet the flop bigger, I think on this type of wet flop it's good to be betting bigger anyway, say £6. Then turn £13, then by the river the pot is £47 and we have £27.

So that £1 flop tweak has a big effect by the river.

Agree with Greekstein about pre, absolutely fine hand to call with HU and until there is a dynamic I agree we should be 3betting premiums and trash (hands like 93s, or T7o say, not complete 72o trash i mean).
