Must have an audible guitar part or just doesn't really register.
My guilty pleasure is this track YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg59q4puhmg masterpiece of production, especially the layered harmony vocal tracks in the middle part Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: KarmaDope on January 22, 2015, 12:02:59 PM Most of the stuff I regularly listen to could be put in this thread...but tbh there's only one "band" I kinda have to listen to quietly, and that is Babymetal.

Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: hector62 on January 22, 2015, 01:00:51 PM I really like the song by the weird Irish gay twins that was in Eurovision a couple of years ago, Waterfall I think it was called.

Not often you get so many top class records on one album.
Man alive I just realised it was released in 1977. Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: bobby1 on January 22, 2015, 02:26:50 PM The soundtrack to Frozen Another parent guilty as charged. In fact, in our 8 man apartment in Prague we (I) played it every morning before the days tournaments. It brought good luck so it stuck... Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: cambridgealex on January 22, 2015, 03:46:51 PM I could have a field day in this thread.
My first single I bought was Geri Halliwell It's Raining Men and that remains one of my finest musical purchases. I love Disney soundtracks like Lion King and Aladdin. Classical Music Musicals - Les Mis is a cracker. OK I'll stop there. Helps that I think she is lovely. YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPf0YbXqDm0 I suppose this counts as cool but not at my age, but I really like it. Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: jakally on January 22, 2015, 05:14:30 PM Most of these aren't even close to being embarrassing. (With the exception of Frozen, of course).
Going to go through my cassette tapes in a minute - pretty sure I will find some interesting stuff. Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: jakally on January 22, 2015, 05:37:55 PM Love this too much.
YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvjLgjtJKsc This is probably pretty credible - aside from the attire in the vid - but find myself singing along to this in the car, on repeat. YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-aK6JnyFmk Hmmm...this one's almost Eurovision. YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4R97AeM6IE Can't understand why people laugh at me when I play them this. YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7QPBzAJ_io Lot's more where they came from - only up to 'C' (had the Strawberrys in mind prior to looking). I like how you tried to be trendy by saying Cassette's when you only own Vinyl, thinking that cassette's were 'in' these days. Going to go through my cassette tapes in a minute - pretty sure I will find some interesting stuff. I like how you tried to be trendy by saying Cassette's when you only own Vinyl, thinking that cassette's were 'in' these days. Actually, if I dug out my vinyl stuff, it could be really bad. Definitely got this one on a 45rpm. In my defence, it was for charity. Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: Jon MW on January 22, 2015, 07:56:38 PM Don't know why Frozen is getting a dissing - Let It Go is a fantastic song. As it this. YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfWlot6h_JM That's one song though - not sure I see the depth in the whole soundtrack :dontask: +1 for Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum though - saw Lady A at the Brooklyn Bowl last year in a little concert, a lot of feedback I saw afterwards had people saying it was the best concert they'd ever been to. I don't like the idea of taking video's at concerts by the way - but I'm quite glad some people disagree and have decent sound quality on their phones/cameras :) YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kZhlS6Qgv0 YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXmAClUdkjQ Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: MereNovice on January 22, 2015, 08:15:15 PM My eyes have been known to water when watching this. Good to know that when I set up an open goal, that there is an accomplished goal poacher ready to make the "tap in". :) Title: Re: Music you don't admit to liking Post by: Tal on January 22, 2015, 09:07:53 PM This is stuff you're not supposed to like but do, right?
I have a wider range in music than I do at the poker table, but there's a few on the outer edges of decency for a gentleman: YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M6samPEMpM A definitive 90s boy band song, as is this: YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbWJVult-9M This still gets an occasional play in times of sadness: YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=010KyIQjkTk If that's too acceptable... We get through all sorts of stuff and a lot of it rubs off. I'm with you on Taylor Swift but there's all sorts of stuff. She has a CD that's called Pop Princesses, that's sadly quite good.

Not often you get so many top class records on one album. Man alive I just realised it was released in 1977. The excellent "Classic Albums" TV Series on BBC & Sky Arts featured "Meat Loaf, Bat Out of Hell" earlier this week, & was well up to the usual standard, very good watching indeed. It should be on Sky Catch Up or I-player, well worth a look. It includes a close examination of Meat Loaf's complex relationship with Jim Steinman. As Albums go, it really was one of a kind, & quite exceptional.
