Title: HU MTT Hand
Post by: shipitgood on January 25, 2015, 11:37:36 PM
The opponent is really tight, 3 handed my chip stack just went up and up. He knocked out the 3rd player, but i'm still the chip leader going into HU.

He's super tight, as in, folds a lot of buttons/ doesn't defend enough from the BB.

We have 195k at the start of the hand. He has 148k.

We are on the Button with  Ad  8d.

Blinds 2k/4k.

We min raise to 8k. He did this weird min click back, another 4k, it's the first time he has done this. We call.
Pot= 24k.

Flop:  2s 8s  3h. Bet 12k Call. Pot 48k.

Turn;  Qs. He checks. When he checks I think I have the best hand here and bet to protect from xs type hands. Might still be behind to over pairs 99+. Felt I did have to protect my hand a bit go for value/ we can check behind a lot of rivers.

I bet 20k. He calls. Pot is 88k.

River  8h. He has 108k behind.

I set him all in. He tanked for ages, I was begging for a call. He used the full time bar, before calling.

Thoughts on the river sizing, eg slightly over bet.

Cheers everyone.

OTR, 37kish or there abouts might have been a  better bet as in he doesn't  look that strong as in better than a 1 pair hand.

If I bet small and he jams i'm in a world of hurt, and probs have 2 fold against this player.

He had  9s 3s.

Really interesting he has checked the turn when his flush comes in.

I quite liked my turn bet for value/ protection, allowing me to check behind a lot of rivers.

In hindsight, checking might have been a bit better, not to sure tbh.

At the time, I thought he had slow rolled me OTR using the full time bank. I don't think that's the case now, he prob was genuinely concerned about being beat/ better flush or FH.

Ace 9 (K9) is prob the bottom of my jamming range here for value and given the player (rock) it was a mistake as he can't call with worse. It was just strangely played ott when he checks back his flush.

If I bet 37k, I suspect he might only call thinking he can't get called by worse.
