Title: Newbie staking question
Post by: mikeymike on January 28, 2015, 11:30:40 PM
Hi all

I understand and respect the forums rules on staking. I shall be when i have completed probation and complied with the forums rules be looking to stake some players.

As i know very few people in the poker community (unsociable mf my Mrs says, i just say miserable git) is there a thread that shows the results of staked players.

Cheers

When someone puts up a request for staking, part of the OP will usually involve putting up their stats.  Then you can take a look and decide if you like the spot and ask to take whatever % you are comfortable with.  Nice when you bink big, but keep it to small pieces that don't sting too much until you have a good feel of what can and does happen.

I would say a lot of people on here (myself included) look at a multitude of things when backing someone.

Are they trustworthy?
Are they a nice guy?
Do we have a chance of a return?

There are some people when I back them I think it's mainky a financial decision and others provide a good sweat or they are my friends and it's nice to have a piece. If they win you win, then you can drink beer!!

Would you back someone you didn't like, but felt you had a great chance of getting a decent return?

Would you be able to be happy for them?

I would back the majority of players at different skill levels and different buy ins whether i liked them, knew them, didn't know them or didn't like them. We all need a helping hand now and then.

Yes

Depends how much I didn't like them and why
