Robert Lewandowski. Don't know if I can take much more reality punishment, not after national treasure won CBB and getting Tindall turned over by Joey fking Essex. Title: Re: Eurovision 2015 Post by: Chompy on March 04, 2015, 04:03:38 PM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8AGIHFPWRw
All the entries that are in so far. Italy now a strong favourite at around 7/4. Seem to remember France being a string favourite with an opera song not long ago, and that bombed badly, finishing way down the pack. Italy have the benefit of going through the semi, though. Finland well backed into around 7/2 second fav. The youtube comments are worth a read, all the Rolfs and Svens are fumming. Love it. Only 1m30 long though. The Italian one is a clever one (Three Tenors) , I'm surprised no one thought of doing it before. I thought the Slovenian one was the best of that lot though. Also going to have to have a cheeky couple of quid on Azerbaijan blind. No expense spared from the Azeris :) What are you thinking Chompy? Like the Finland angle if you can use 'the machine', where 7-1 is fine. Never known a 1m20s song in the ESC though, they're almost always bang on 3mins, so guess they'll have to extend. Just find Slovenia annoying tbh. Finland all the way!!!!! Every channer we finish last this year. Who the hell is picking these? Finland have taken a good walk since the early support. Heading towards an interesting price now. Azerbaijan at 40+ seems dangerous. They're always last in with their entry and look low risk at that sort of price. The meeting with Robbo, either tomo or Tuesday, will either see Robbo given the job permo or till the end of the season. I'd sooner the latter tbh. This bunch of players have spent the best part of a year not trying a yard for Fergie, who'd completely lost them, and even Stuart Pearce could have come in and got a short-term reaction. We were a bit hoofy v Orient yesterday, which isn't our way. Darragh has always been all about the 'young and hungry players playing good, attractive football' idea and I wouldn't imagine he'd have been blown away by watching us play like Bradford yest. Title: Re: Eurovision 2015 Post by: Marky147 on March 08, 2015, 02:10:19 PM Get Camel singing, with his transferable fanbase he'd be a winner with a Guy Chambers masterpiece!

Before we start, I ain't professing to still have my Radio 1 loyalty card, so not sure what is in and what's not. Can't see why Sweden are so short. Its ok, but defo nothing special. Liked Spain, but not in English, and not sure if that counts against it. Also thought Slovenia and Swiss entries were ok. Russian entry good, but you read all the comments after and you wonder if they can get enough votes, but much prefer it to Sweden song. Can't have the Serbian song, not sure if whoever liked it was in the shower when listening, but each to his own! Oz song for me, sounds like Bruno Marrs, which may resonate, but they may get a load of novelty votes, and voters should have no axe to grind, got to be a banker ew bet for me. As for UK, I guess we have just given up on the whole thing. WTF!! Title: Re: Eurovision 2015 Post by: Chompy on May 23, 2015, 12:41:34 PM No Eurovision sweep?

Any entry that progresses through the semi has to finish in the top ten of 16-17, so will have picked up points from somewhere. The only candidates are the big five plus the reigning champ. I'd be surprised to see a nil tbh. Our phone vote voted for the gay kiss and the Poles*, but our phone vote meant Russia jumped a place on our jury vote. Aaron right about the gay bias of the San Marino jury? And how are we splitting the anti war votes from the gay votes in Europe. Not sure what we can learn from it for next year though. * presumably Nigel Farage has a theory about this? Its a rare breed on Blonde for anyone to ever admit they could possibly be wrong..... I think Russia will likely never win again if they couldn't win this time. They had a top entry and with regional bias they should have hosed up last night. The competition will be won by the vanilla countries for the foreseeable future. I mean UK could reform the Beatles and merge them with Abba, One Direction, Queen and Elton John and still lose. Probably wouldn't top 5 either. I can see Putin wiping San Marino off the map after that outrage Title: Re: Eurovision 2015 Post by: Chompy on May 24, 2015, 10:00:50 AM Wasn't second a fair result for a song that was 16-1 fifth-favourite earlier in the week?
Wasn't it as simple as the best three songs finished first, second and third, same as usual? Title: Re: Eurovision 2015 Post by: Waz1892 on May 24, 2015, 10:05:21 AM i didn't even realise this was on earlier, switching channels and saw it. Why on earth were Australia in it? 60th anniversary of Eurovision, so they thought they'd do something wacky, basically. If they won, then the whole of Europe goes there! Would have been funny! Would have been funny! no, they would have chosen a european country to host Title: Re: Eurovision 2015 Post by: Chompy on May 24, 2015, 10:18:58 AM Germany would have hosted if Australia had won.

Said that you needed to follow the market. Gay vote came out, but didn't change the UK vote. 5 people in a room in San Marino, who knows why they voted? Only one person put an antagonistic post on TfT after it finished. Title: Re: Eurovision 2015 Post by: Doobs on May 24, 2015, 10:21:22 AM Germany would have hosted if Australia had won. Would be a great trivia question in a few years. Who got nul points and hosted Euroviosion. Title: Re: Eurovision 2015 Post by: TightEnd on May 24, 2015, 10:34:45 AM lol

Aaron said Russia wouldn't win because of the anti Russian feeling, they had a great song, and in normal circs would have won with the block voting they can call upon. Even that same block vote dissented, and that was clearly because of non song related issues, as Aaron suggested. We are very keen on here to take the rise out of certain people on here when they stick their head above the parapet, the least you can do is acknowledge when they are right. Amazing how many people become Eurovision experts one weekend a year. Amazing how many people become Eurovision experts one weekend a year. In fairness my mother called 1) Sweden 2) Russia 3) Italy. She has a pad & paper from the start & considers watching the semis "cheating". She liked the Swedish song & picked Russia in second because of her pretty dress & liked Italy as he seemed a "nice young man" So on this one chompy you're wrong. Plenty of genuine experts out there.
