Title: How much would you bid?
Post by: tikay on February 11, 2015, 10:22:57 AM

This 1968 Morris Minor, with just 190 miles on the clock, goes under the auctioneers hammer this week, complete, it seems, with dodgy bonnet lock.

How much do you think it will fetch?

Little things that catch the eye........

The numbers 10 & 90 being a different direction than the other numbers on the dial. Was/is this standard?

The old car picture evoked some early child memories for me today. My old man wrote off 3 Austin Allegros in 2 years. All were company cars at the time, and he was very lucky to walk away scratch free each time. They then gave him a sturdier Ford Granada, which he never crashed. The last time he crashed an Allegro I remember him getting all  us kids out in the evening to search for his glasses that he had lost. They were found nearby by me. I had my 1st car crash a year last November when hitting some black ice on a bend and writing off my little Renault. I also walked away scratch free and the policewoman who attended the scene said I was very very lucky to do so. I just looked to the heavens......and said 'cheers Dad' .

*edit - sorry, I didn't answer the actual question in OP as just got lost in the moment. I would say around £10k?

Book price for a convertible or traveller in good nick with low mileage from that period is about 8k so I would expect it to make that.
The top picture it looks in excellent condition, the middle picture not so much.  Not sure if the mileage is a positive or not as its so low is less likely to have been maintained/turned over so I will go £11.5k assuming it runs.
