Title: Vintage Las Vegas Post by: KarmaDope on February 15, 2015, 12:09:04 PM I was kindly pointed in the direction of this tumblr which has a huge collection of Las Vegas (and Reno) pictures taken in the 20th Century with some pictures having little explanations as well. Worth a look if you have an interest in Old Vegas like I do.
http://vintagelasvegas.tumblr.com/ This is a minute snapshot of what is on there: Las Vegas Club - 1955 (one of a slideshow of three entitled "Stuck Outside") (http://40.media.tumblr.com/85baf00afc36988bee3af5cad0d6e3bb/tumblr_njdqshhEfI1s0vozto1_1280.jpg) Fremont Street - in the 1930's. Cheers for this. Can see the next half an hour being very unproductive Title: Re: Vintage Las Vegas Post by: Karabiner on February 15, 2015, 01:11:32 PM Great find.
Did someone say something about half an hour? It's taken me twenty minutes to look through the first four of 95 pages! Title: Re: Vintage Las Vegas Post by: Kev B on February 15, 2015, 01:13:19 PM Great find Adam.
Title: Re: Vintage Las Vegas Post by: Pawprint on February 15, 2015, 01:41:31 PM Great photos. All the notes about what's at each location now got me searching Youtube for some of the demolition videos. Feels like Vegas constantly churns it's hotels. Going for the first time this year, so much history, can't wait.
Only in Vegas could they make the demolition of a building into a show. YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5igVwiXk-gM Title: Re: Vintage Las Vegas Post by: Tal on February 15, 2015, 03:28:54 PM (http://40.media.tumblr.com/0a0f2128fc5a25a75e3e4c695b15b5bb/tumblr_nil9y6El7U1s0vozto1_1280.jpg)
Photorealist painting. Amazing. "Naked but nice". What a uniquely Vegas expression. Title: Re: Vintage Las Vegas Post by: TightEnd on February 15, 2015, 03:35:02 PM these are amazing, thanks for putting them up
