Like what the title sayed, not a Live Update, but I will try & give the occasional Update from the Sky Poker UKPC HIGH ROLLER, which got under way at DTD 15 minutes ago. (£3,000 entry, £150,000 Guarantee).

Any questions, fire away, but don't expect Tighty style wordyness, I come from kickapoo.

20 entrants so far, needing 50, but it has re-entries. Won't be far off, imo.

Currently recognizable (to me) are......

John Duthie

Ian Simpson

Taff

Martin Frey

Wadey

Neil Strike (joesman1 from Next Door)

Mr Ambo is on his way.

Nobody from a town called Kickapoo appears to be playing.

Yeah, close. Made 78 last year, but 50 would be nice. It has re-entries.

Mr Picken is indulging? Happy days, a face - or at least a mop of unruly hair - I'll recognize.

First blood to Mr Duthie, who takes a 30,000 pot, he bet (& got called) every street.

Board was.....

 6h 7c 9h Ks Th

Mr D showed.....

 8d 9d

Oppo said he had 2 pair.

Here's John in a crucial titfer.

28 now, including......

Chris Brammer

Steve Warburton. (I think - nice hair, like a choir boy, sort of Toby Lewis style?).

oioi, the boys have arrived.

Currently cogitating & ruminating around the Cash Desk & deciding whether to flick it in are....

Cambridge Alex

Keith Johnson

Stato

Mitch Johnson, who, on Sunday evening, was the first propa player I have ever successfully double-barreled (turn bet was around £300 I think, gulp) with the bare ace in a 4/5/6 PLO Cash Game, is apparently too ashamed to show his face. Quite right too. I own. My arse was twitching something shocking, fair to add.

Title: Re: This is not a Live Update - it's just a tribute.
Post by: tikay on February 24, 2015, 06:37:07 PM

Late arrivals include.....

Mr Adam Picken (complete with hair)

Sharky (complete with shark bite)

Stato, Alex & Co have also joined the frey.

36 now.

Some chuntering is emenating from Wadey, after his Aces got busted by 6-8 for on this run out......

 Ad 3c 5c 9h 7d

Think that cost him about a third of his stack.

Best dressed so far, Mr Updater Tributiser?

Any comment from Mr Ambo on the rumour I read last night on blonde of a certain triple BPA winner being a contestant on this autumn's Strictly? I read it on this forum so it must be true. Granted, I might have written it and made it up entirely, but even still, no smoke without fire...

Best dressed has to be - well hang on, let me try & get a photo.

Mr Ambo has yet to arrive - train delayed, one assumes. We sat with Miss C, aka "The Queen Mother" last night, but I was not party to any whisperings.

Shameless spamming but got rooms at Park Plaza, Jurys Inn and the Hilton tonight for those waiting to spin up a stack before booking... I remember last High Roller we had about ten of them wanting rooms at midnight and not much available - not back at DTD until Thursday but if anyone needs a room, get me on any of the communication methods available :-)

Good luck to all...

38 & motoring.

Latest arrival is that petite & pretty young Lady - Korean, I think? - who is always most inventively dressed it most pleasing outfits.

Pretty sure her name includes two hyphens & includes at least one "c".

You don't get that detail from Tighty.

Oops, so you did, apols. Very kind of you, thank you.

It was Sunday actually, I now see.

By way of mitigation, I never got home from DTD until 0500 Monday morning, felt like poo, & then I had a puncture which I had to go get fixed, a few hours kip then up to the British Poker Awards last night. I've obviously spent all day today polishing my trophies.

Think I'll steer clear of TfT tonight. Not Fred's best day ever, all things considered.

Eh?

This is just a tribuite tribute.

Here's a few approximations.

Neil Strike 25,000

Keith Johnson 45,000

Stato 50,000

Alex Goulder 72,173

Neil Channing 45,000

John Duthie (2nd bullet) 100,000

Chris Brammer 40,000

Ben Dobson (2nd bullet) 35,000

Taff 80,000

Raggy 80,000

Anthony Nicholls 20,000

Stu Fox 25,000

Steve Warburton (backed Augero to score Any Time @2/1) 75,000.

Adam Picken 40,000

Ian Simpson (2nd bullet) 50,000

Currently 43 uniques + 6 re-entries, of which 36 remain present & correct.

Ave stack 68,000

Blinds 500-1,000/100.

There, easy game this.

The "Best Turned Out" award goes to Steve Warburton.

Keith Johnson busted moments before the end of the last level for late-regging, his.....

 Ahrt Kh

...being no match for.....

 Ad Ac

The flop gave reasonable grounds for optimism......

 Qh 3h Tc

....but then blanked.

He has re-entered, bringing the number to, if the plassy is accurate, exactly 50.

Chris Brammer, unforch, also just busted, & appears to have left the scene of the crime.

Post by: tikay on February 24, 2015, 10:38:51 PM

8 minutes remain for re-entries or Late Regs, but assuming no more customers choose to invest £3,000, the final numbers are....

43 uniques + 8 re-entries = 51

The Guarantee is therefore officially smashed.

the high roller has just hit its final 9

approx chip counts at 2,500-5,000 are

12    1    Jeremy Nock 150,000
12    3    Enzo Gomez 500,000
12    4    Matas Cimbolas 450,000
12    6    Keith Johnson 100,000

14    1    Alex Goulder 90,000
14    2    James Clarke 200,000
14    4    Steven Warburton 100,000
14    5    Andy Bacon 600,000
14    8    Stuart Fox 120,000

Cmbolas, who won the WPT here at the back end of last year knocked out John Dthie on the final table bubble

Duthie raised with 6h 3h and flopped 6-10-K two hearts against Cmbolas in the big blind

(second hand from the dealer), Duthie bet the streets and was called by a rivered set of sevens

as you will see above, 5 paid only and a lovely £10,000 bubble on the way

Steve Warburton out 9th, Taffy Bacon turned a straight with Q-9 against a short-stacked small pair

Stuart Fox has just shoved all in on the turn of A-10-4-J two clubs and Bacon has folded 4-5cc, unshown but spoken

Johnson looks to be the short-stack

Gomez, Bacon and Cimbolas the chip leaders

here is the final in action

everyone loves a chopped pot. Except if you are on the four other players

of the three left Cimbolas is huge, around 90% of the chips in play

Bacon and Clarke both equally short

Raggy finished 3rd for £24,000

Bacon took him out

then in two heads up hands Cimbolas had Queens and Jacks, against Bacon's bag of spanners to knock Bacon out 2nd for £36,000

Meaning last year's WPT Nottingham champion Matias Cimbolas wins the Sky Poker UKPC High Roller for £60,000

Yo, I would lose the beard! Makes you look like a hobo! Maybe consider some Thai eyebrow threading and tint?? If you wearing brown shoes or any kind of sandal change them! Finally, if you swap the errr burgundy jacket for navy blue we have a dece colour combo that doesn't make us look like a coach driver. Great updates! Oh and when you want money??

I thought the ron burgundy jacket was more Sky sports presenter chav chic circa 1995, but the driver motif works equally well. Old fella looks better irl tbf
