Title: iPhone users
Post by: TimothyVanwinkle on March 05, 2015, 09:04:15 AM
It's a little scary how much info your phone holds about you

Settings

Privacy

Location services

System services

Frequent locations.

It even names the places home and work.

Not if you keep refusing Google's request to track your location it doesn't.  :)

I resigned myself a long time ago to the fact that everything I ever do, some creepy little bastard at apple/google/amazon etc will know. It's the price of being able to get the best driving route from Sheffield to Cambridge on your phone, or being able to find out the answer to 'what was the name of the mean warden in porridge?' in 20 seconds flat.

It's not unique to iPhone users, it's all mobile phone users, well smartphone users.

A lot of technology companies have this information about everyone, it's nothing to be paranoid about though. It's not like some technician is hired specifically to track your daily activity, or spy on you through the camera on your phone/ laptop.

even though they clearly have an insane amount of access, some companies will be worse than others.

I already posted this in the browsing question thread but as this is a similar topic have an article by the Apple CEO recently about privacy.
