Title: European cities Post by: exstream on March 18, 2015, 08:58:49 PM Where is good to go?
Myself and 2 friends planning to go somewhere for a week in the Summer. Ideally want to rent a villa with a pool, great nightlife. Ideas? Title: Re: European cities Post by: lucky_scrote on March 18, 2015, 09:05:38 PM There will literally be hundreds of places in spain that meet your criteria.
Use the map view on http://www.homeaway.com/ and filter out the shitty villas to get what you want. Ideally want to rent a villa with a pool, great nightlife. Ideas? need to define great nightlife, and specify a type of budget. the villas we rented for marbella UKIPT or w/e it was were great fun. IIRC Goulder sorted those out for us. I've been to stay in a villa in croatia which was awesome and had some great night life options. just depends what you want, how far you're willing to travel etc. Title: Re: European cities Post by: exstream on March 18, 2015, 09:15:10 PM Croatia is exactly what I looked at first, any more info on there?!

Ty for replies Croatia was lovely, some parts very touristy, other parts quiet and idyllic. Accommodation/food/activities/weather were all great when we went there, it was very relaxing with touristy options for those very active types. 1 disclaimer, it's not that long since the region was war ravaged and full of religious/regional animosity. What that means is you just have to not be stupid, and if for example you are all brown/black and likely to be loud and boisterous i'd suggest going somewhere else. My group of best friends was about 1/3 asian and we got lots of looks at times, and were advised by our cab driver to just keep to ourselves and not push our luck etc as some people 'were still very angry violent people'. (on this note we had similar experiences in Poland a few months ago so its not uncommon just something to bear in mind). Having given that disclaimer i'd highly recommend Croatia. We visited the southern end, staying on a relatively family orientated island just off Split called Brac. The next island over Hvar is a real party central kind of place and we took a ferry to go for nights out there, it was great. Friends visited dubrovnik right down in the south on the way and said it was very nice but quite expensive and touristy. Meant to have some nice national parks with amazing waterfalls inland I remember reading. Food away from the touristy places was cheap and good, lots of fish etc. I stayed overnight in Trogir to the west of split, a smaller town near the airport, which was really nice and really upmarket, with some stupidly incredible boats moored up so definitely the posher bit I would assume, but it was really nice and again not particularly expensive. |
