Title: Russell Brand - "the world's 4th best thinker"
Post by: tikay on March 26, 2015, 08:03:18 AM

Holy crap.

Guess this is anothe example of writing something controversial/daft just to attract publicity for the magazine.

Not even sure how we define a "good thinker".

I think a lot, but I'm currently unranked.

Anyway, here's Russell having a good think. If only we could insert a thought bubble.

...

It was a vote by readers of the magazine - it has a circulation of 30,000 and 3000 voted.

But you could be right, the fact that he was one of the nominees might well have been a deliberate ploy by the magazine to generate publicity.

A fine balanced top 5.

2 left wing economists, a left wing author, a left wing politician and a long haired bloke who spouts left wing goobledygook!

I used to think Brand was a complete looney, a self obsessed narcissist.

But I've come to the conclusion he actually cares about the subjects he spouts off about.

Still a narcissist though.

I know people who post links to Brand to generate discussion and posts on web forums.

I'd rather have Brand than Charlie:

A dangerous narcissist imo.

I am a world class thinker. It's just the saying and the doing that lets me down. :)

Would love to know how much money he  actually gives to charity and causes. I suspect he talks a good game.

I like brand.

In a world where professing ignorance and pretending to be stupid cements celebrity status its nice to see someone using words of more than one sylable and openly embracing being a pretentious and patronising tosser.

He fights the good fight.

One of his earliest tv appearances was him following the life of the young bnp leader. He fully challenged the lad on his own ground. Well worth watching and a world away from his overt persona he employs now.

Top man imo

he blogged about it on his trews channel. Ironically he agrees with posters in this thread what the agenda of the list is really about.
