Title: You must answer
Post by: RED-DOG on March 26, 2015, 01:37:59 PM
within 30 seconds of reading the question. No timebank, no peeking at other answers. (If there are any) There will be a long blank space below the question to prevent accidental cheating.

Prepare to time yourself. Look at your watch or the clock on your computer and be strict. 30 seconds.

Now for the question.

Nominate a celebrity to rule the world.

Yer man that's the head clever guy at Google.

He can keep the chair warm until an artificial intelligence can take over.

This is a serious answer -  I really don't think a human is the best person for the job.

Only recently become a Fry fanboy, but don't think he'd do a bad job.

I would also have said Fry if I'd have thought about it. Currently reading Arnie's biography which is why he was top of mind.

Why would we want someone who was famous for doing something else to rule the world?

I wouldn't think Barack Obama was an ideal candidate for Chelsea goalkeeper any more than I would think Gary Barlow would make a good head of the International Monetary Fund.

Stephen Fry

Just read through and don't know what I make of picking the 'sheep' answer. Quite something for a chap to achieve such 'unanimous' (not literal, obviously) recognition as being a good egg - I think he would probably be quite touched to see this, small world that we are.

Well, it was rhetorical question, but you're right, I couldn't imagine North Korea and Russia best pleased. Could see them get the nukes out for this one.

Russia has a gay leader at the moment. Not sure North Koreans have a great deal of say about their leader at the moment,  so can't see why they'd be too upset with Fry?

Hiis main talent seems to be getting people to like him and making considerable money out of that popularity by occupying an odd niche for being a populist, bigoted bully. If that's a talent, I stand corrected :-)

Referring to his main talent would suggest that he has other talents. That being said, I mostly agree with your sentiments. I just dislike Carl Pilkington.
