Title: Any Ubuntu Users out there? Post by: simonnatur on March 27, 2015, 10:30:19 AM Have just installed Ubuntu as a workaround to get an old pc with a formatted hd up and running. Liking it enough to install it in parallel with windows on my laptop. Amazed how easy it is to install and get everything working.
From what I read it's a good solution if you have an old pc running XP which is no longer supported by Msoft. Does anyone use it? Benefits/disadvantages? Title: Re: Any Ubuntu Users out there? Post by: Longines on March 29, 2015, 09:48:41 PM Had a play with it a few years ago, think my 180yo son has it dual booting still on his laptop. Good choice for older/low powered kit. When viruses were at their peak I was more than tempted to stick on the parent's PC to cut down on the support calls but the combination of them wiseing up a little plus improved detection tools meant I managed to swerve that particular learning curve.
