Title: WSOP Main hand Post by: hotdog on July 11, 2015, 10:05:05 AM Hero has 27400
Cutoff raise, button call 900, I squeeze QQ to 2900 in small. Both call Flop AT2. All check Turn AT27. Two checks, button bets 6.5k. Hero makes the call, is this ok?? River AT27K. Button bet 13k of my 17k WWYD? Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: verndog158 on July 11, 2015, 10:24:51 AM In this structure I guess peeling could be fine pre flop?
Squeeze is ok too, when they both call think it's just a give up on the flop. As played defo folding river, seems like we are setting fire to a decent stack if we call. Not sure we beat anything. Fold turn too Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: pleno1 on July 11, 2015, 05:40:46 PM bluff shove?
Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: PathFinder on July 11, 2015, 07:22:00 PM bluff shove? Would be optimistic considering stack size on river lol Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: SuuPRlim on July 11, 2015, 08:53:22 PM who are the villains?
vs anyone who appears good I would defo peel pre flop, just too much unnecessary worry otherwise, this is the main event, days 3-4 are about preservation. If they are very weak players then certainly raising is absolutely correct Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: rfgqqabc on July 11, 2015, 10:50:31 PM He can bet way less on the turn as a bluff so id probably fold now.
Thoughts on 3.2k/ fold vs 4bet line. Prob not vs anyone under 35. Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: SuuPRlim on July 12, 2015, 09:45:03 AM When iv played the ME I just always think, let's really try and not have any tricky close decisions for big % of my chips, normally you don't get this luxury but then normally you don't have this structure...
Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: pleno1 on July 12, 2015, 09:59:50 AM with no reads its kinda ridiculous though.
qq will be 100% a 3bet vs some and never a 3bet vs others. some will just call, call, call and never value bet thinly/bluff, others will over bet vs you, raise you on 987 flops with kq and all other sorts of stuff. can't just answer this hand in a vacuum. When you enter the main you have to be prepared to make big decisions at some point. It's early too, let's not hide away Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: david3103 on July 12, 2015, 05:07:10 PM Somewhat outside my experience levels but would it be awful to lead the flop here?
We get to make our decision about the hand a lot earlier and potentially a lot cheaper. Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: Tal on July 12, 2015, 07:13:25 PM Fellow non-wizard, here.
Somewhat outside my experience levels but would it be awful to lead the flop here? We get to make our decision about the hand a lot earlier and potentially a lot cheaper. If I'm squeezing and first to act on the flop, with only two callers, I am 100% leading an ace high flop. However, being over 30, I will be given credit for AK or AA at this point. :D Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: david3103 on July 12, 2015, 07:20:51 PM Fellow non-wizard, here. Checking with the intention of folding flop does seem like the right play, but we can still win at showdown or throw in a value bet later on if it seems appropriate so we're not giving up on the pot just yet.
Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: hotdog on July 13, 2015, 12:50:33 PM Really interesting replies!!
The guy was a 30ish year old american. Looked super uncomfortable when he bet the turn. Sizing was wierd! The river bet was super strange! He looked as if he was gonna check then spalshed out the bet. Hero became the ultimate hero and made the call. Turns out he had 44 and turned it in to a bluff. Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: SuuPRlim on July 13, 2015, 01:45:21 PM when you're readless in a comp with a 2 hr clock, I would lean towards to side of caution and assume everyone is good and be wary of them until Ive seen otherwise.
If it's a quicker structure then you gotta make some judgement readz innit. Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: AlexMartin on July 13, 2015, 04:22:27 PM 3 way im happy with a flop bet for a bit of protection and maybe some value from Tx, as played id fold river. Agree with pleno though, need way more information to be able to make any objective decision.
Title: Re: WSOP Main hand Post by: Simon Galloway on July 14, 2015, 06:21:38 PM bluff shove? Turns out this would have been perfect, regardless! I would have bluff shoved too, but more because I like laying out by th epool all day than being able to put him on 44. |
