Title: Sunday 500 spot
Post by: The Camel on September 07, 2015, 10:39:13 AM
Blinds are 200-400

I've recently had a lovely double up to 35k and I've got a top 30 stack out of about 600 remaining.

I open to 1000 with JJ in EP.

A player who has been on my table since the start and has done nothing out of line - just played very solidly calls me from a 30k stack.

Now a new player to the table shoves for 14k.

We?

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but I'm curious as to your reasoning.

What range is shoving 35BB here? And what about the flat caller?

It's 85 BBs, not 35 Dave.

Ok so I thought we were at 300/600

Where did flatter flat from and where did the guy jam from?

Guess it looks a lot like AK and unless you've seen shover jam wide would probably fold now but keep an eye on him

Pretty weird spot

Pretty weird spot

Flatter was two off the button. Shover was either button or SB.

It's 35bbs

Seems pretty close. QQ goes in but would fold TT.

Sorry, was talking about my stack, because that was what I was risking if the flatter had a huge hand.

It is 75bbs effective?

Kind of hate it, as so many flat AA and KK, but think I shove anyway.

What does our HUD and note caddy say?

i don't know where you are getting this info from, but in my experience of HS mtt AA/KK are much more likely to 3bet these stack depths unless there are numerous stacks that can squeeze jam behind.
knowing the whole HH would be very beneficial here. certainly not folding JJ though, would be quite happy to jam here vs almost any player.

Think most likely fold in this spot depending who the player is, doubt villain shoves too light from button/small blind

playing Sunday 500 most good/reg players, at best your racing against ak/aq, At best if your very lucky against 10 10 (doubt he shoving 10 10) to utg open and call

Don't need to risk half your stack, when plenty of play left and better spots

If your wrong surely it's a lot of bbs at this point in a tourney do you need to do all ins at this point ? / get into a race ?
Maybe if you play at this level a lot it's standard ? Is it
It's a fold for me

Is calling and then folding if the original caller jams not an option? Given that we'd play AA/KK/QQ the same way and are not going to get shipped on by anything less than something that has us crushed?

not an option because TT and AK are still shipping on us and i can see AK peeling us here quite a bit.

been thinking about his hand a lot recently and it really is a big mistake folding JJ here, its such a no brainer decision in my mind that maybe you shouldnt be firing this tournament if you feel this is a pha worthy hand. aka stick to the horses old man :P
