Title: Calling Android Geeks. Post by: RED-DOG on September 08, 2015, 03:30:04 PM How the Devil do I post a google image from my Android phone? (Galaxy S4)
I'm sure I used to be able to do it by long-pressing the image and then copying the link, but now all I copy is a page and a half of gobbledygook. Title: Re: Calling Android Geeks. Have to say I'm bitterly disappointed. Title: Re: Calling Android Geeks. Post by: RED-DOG on September 09, 2015, 09:05:58 AM Well what waste of time you android geeks really are. Pages and pages of you whining about this problem on Google but no answers.
I sussed it myself in the end. All you have to do is put your phone browser into desktop mode and then you can proceed as you would on your laptop. Title: Re: Calling Android Geeks. Post by: Redsgirl on September 09, 2015, 10:30:36 AM While we're on, I'll see if anyone is no help at all with my problem.
My Samsung s3 went flat while on Saturday night and when i plugged it in and tried to start it wouldn't get past the startup screen. I got it into recovery mode for a cache wipe and reboot but no success. Apparently my next move is a factory reset but the problem is I have maybe a hundred snaps from this summer in there that are worth more to me than the phone. Are they retrievable? Uninterested kid in my local phone shop said no, but I don't want to give in just yet. Title: Re: Calling Android Geeks. Post by: Longines on September 09, 2015, 11:05:45 AM Does the S3 use a memory card? The pictures might be on that rather than the phone itself?
Title: Re: Calling Android Geeks. Post by: RED-DOG on September 09, 2015, 11:16:01 AM Oh so now people want to help! Wassamatter with me, not pretty enough?
Title: Re: Calling Android Geeks. Post by: Redsgirl on September 09, 2015, 12:19:12 PM Does the S3 use a memory card? The pictures might be on that rather than the phone itself? It does, and I have those photos but I had managed to fill it a couple of weeks ago and since then my photos have been storing to the phone. The annoying thing is I usually back up to my pc on a regular basis but I've been away from it all summer, and because I've been away all summer I've taken a lot more photos than usual! I've lost three weddings, a weekend at the seaside and various other days out with the family. :'( Title: Re: Calling Android Geeks. Introduced as part of the new Personal Load Carrying Equipment (PLCE) in the late eighties https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_Load_Carrying_Equipment If memory serves, our Regiment was one of the first to trial it. Can you imgine trying to dig a complete trench using that. The PLCE itself obviously was a huge step up from the 58 Pattern webbing previously used (by me from 1978 to late 80's) Then the Bivvi was a waterproof poncho which doubled as both your waterproof protection and the Bivvi, it was like wearing a crisp packet. With the introduction of PLCE came the DPM waterproof groundsheet which became our Bivvi and is what Jack and I used during our Coast to Coast adventure and pics of which I posted on that thread. Also introduced was Goretex waterproof suits (Also seen in some of those pics.) These were a godsend, however most soldiers had already by then purchased there own civi equivalents. All I retain from my Army days are a couple of the Goundsheets, a Goretex waterproof jacket and another couple of Bivvy Bags. I have a spare of each and I remember a wee while back you mentioned your Bivvi bag was showing signs of wear. PM me your address and I'll send them down. I've just went through the thread again and caan feel the itchy feet coming on. I still do quite a bit of walking mostly around the Pentlands and often with the grandkids. Whilst the last couple of years at work have been pretty hectic things are settling down and I'm actually contemplating going sort of semi retired at the beginning of next year when I turn 55, Had a couple of trips walking this year, Arran in February which was great but brutally cold at that time of year, Easter weekend up Ben Lomond and May Bank Holiday in he Trossachs with my youngest son. Looking to go to Cornwall next year during the Easter holiday with the family as it's an area of this great country of ours I've always wanted to visit. May look at revisiting the walk to cover the bits I missed due to illness/injury and I would love to revisit the Lion Inn again, Do you, Rod and Boo still have plans for the bike trip? Geo I'm definitely doing the bike trip Geo. I intended to go this summer but some personal stuff got in the way. I've done quite a few ~ 200 mile test rides and I've been working on getting my kit together and experimenting with ways of packing it. My brother John has adapted a wheeled holdall so that it rides on his pillion. It's a great idea because if you don't fancy leaving your stuff on the bike in a dodgy area it's easy to unmount and take with you. I think Boo's circumstances might have changed forcing him to give up on the idea, and I haven't heard from Rod lately. That coast to coast walk really was great Geo. I bet you're glad you documented it so well now. BTW- Does your tarp have an eyelet or an anchor point in the center? On this pic it looks like it does.
