Title: QQ Satelite
Post by: shipitgood on September 15, 2015, 02:20:30 AM
I was playing a Sat tonight it was £44 PunaCanta Sat into the £190 Sat.

OTB, 7 seats - 8 players left, I have 17k chips and am the chip leader. 2nd has 12k.

On my table stacks are something like 5k-7k, blinds are like 200/400 then 300/600.

I Jam the Button into 2 10/12bb stacks.

Most players in the sat are sitting with this stack, there is no1 seriously short. Shortest stack is 9-10 bigs

The SB folds queens with 10 bigs.

Is this a call or a fold?

I wouldn't fold here, but hardly ever play sats, so could be totally wrong!

In the Las Vegas Sats, OTB the chip leader was open jamming every hand. A player called him with their 7 big blinds with AA, and lost to his 37suited (or something similar!).

There was a few players on <3 Bigs Blinds in this game, so think AA is a fold with the 7 bigs.

But with the QQ Hand in my op they are no where near having a seat locked up. Interesting.

It sounds like a fold, unless he thinks you are jamming much much wider than you should be.

Looks a sure fold to me.  Currently he is maybe 5/1 to finish last.  Even if he faces tt he is going to be worse than that.

I am assuming there are 6 similar 10 bb stacks, if he is one of 2 shortest on 4k and 4 have 7k it might be different.   I don't think the op is very clear (talking about 10bb stacks which are 5k-7k at 200/400).  I am assuming it is 4 handed on sky

It wasn't very clear in my op, it's 4 handed on Sky.

At the other table the players are slightly deeper than 10bigs.

On my table there's me on 17k, the other 3 players are the 3 shortest stacks in the game.

If I fold pre, it's just been jam fold, button versus blinds or blind/blind. So the stacks of these 3 players have seen very little movement just keeping afloat really.

In the particular hand where I Jammed, QQ SB was the shortest stack, or 2nd shortest stack at the time.

It sounds like a fold, unless he thinks you are jamming much much wider than you should be.

I might have been a bit active.

I spoke to the player afterwards, we were in another MTT, they said they folded because they felt other players were weak/ would bust. Fair play, I had AJhh in the hand so would have had 30% equity.

The player did end up getting a seat.

The other 2 players at my table ended up getting it in - 99 versus JJ about 10 hands later.

Why were you jamming/being active when you're a lock for a seat?
Sounds like a reasonable fold from villain, particularly if you are being active and that much more likely to bust/chip away at the shorter stacks
