Title: Re: Need a Doctor? Post by: tikay on September 24, 2015, 01:20:15 PM she has appointed expensive lawyers hasn't she? I was not aware of that, I thought she was invited back, but said her position was untenable. She's no fool though, seems to be a very bright girl. When I googled her, to find a suitable photo, I was a little surprised at some of the photos on display. Just as well Evil Pie does not venture onto this board, he'd have been all over them. Title: Re: Need a Doctor? Post by: The Camel on September 24, 2015, 01:30:01 PM she has appointed expensive lawyers hasn't she? Damn right she has. From here it looks like she has a watertight case. The player (Hazard) went down and the ref asked him if he needed treatment. When he said yes, the ref beckoned her on. What is supposed to do? Refuse to come on the pitch? That really would be a sacking offence. If Mourinho was going to have a pop at anyone over the situation it should be Eden Hazard for faking an injury at the wrong time. To humiliate and demote her over this incident seems like surefire contructive dismissal. Title: Re: Need a Doctor? Not the players, not the managers, not the ref. Title: Re: Need a Doctor? Post by: RED-DOG on September 24, 2015, 05:01:26 PM she has appointed expensive lawyers hasn't she? Not the players, not the managers, not the ref. Have to agree. And if Hazard was, as most players regularly do, feigning injury, then the blame lies with him. Title: Re: Need a Doctor? Post by: Ledders on September 24, 2015, 06:39:36 PM The ref asked Hazard if he wanted treatment, he said yes, and the ref beckoned them on. At that point she absolutely has to go on the pitch.
Of course we don't know what was going on behind the scenes before this incident, but from what is public knowledge this is a clear case of constructive dismissal and I expect Chelsea to get hammered in the courts. Title: Re: Need a Doctor? Post by: tikay on September 24, 2015, 06:43:12 PM What sort of salary would she have been on at Chelsea Football Club? Title: Re: Need a Doctor? 200k a year? At Chelsea anyway Title: Re: Need a Doctor? Post by: TightEnd on September 24, 2015, 08:37:23 PM "nobody in football authority had the backbone to support her "

Not the players, not the managers, not the ref. Eh? Can't give a person treatment who doesn't want it (except a child) Of course you can, the issue of competency to consent is far more complex than that ofc. she has to enter the pitch because that's what the BMA guidelines say. And that she needs to at least check that Hazard is competent enough to withhold consent, if that's what he was doing (although clearly he wasn't here!) Absolutely no doubt that Chelsea would have been absolutely within reason to sack her if she hadn't gone to treat him! That they have sacked her (or, if you like, constructively dismissed her!) for the opposite is absolutely perverse. Title: Re: Need a Doctor? Post by: TheDazzler on September 24, 2015, 11:41:08 PM I'm not sure why we're discussing the rights and wrongs of her treating the player. Isn't this issue about something else altogether?
If I'm not mistaken, she was sidelined due to rumours of her having an affair with one of the players. Obviously she has a cast iron cast for constructive dismissal on the case as presented. |
