Title: Spelling or grammar? Post by: Mohican on October 13, 2015, 12:17:14 PM Grammar is the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit.
This I understand. But when is it correcting a spelling mistake and when is it grammar? My mate used the word hanger when he meant to use hangar. When I pointed this out he said I'd corrected his grammar but I said it was spelling. Can anyone explain? Title: Re: Spelling or grammar? If he accidentally wrote Hanger instead of Hangar it was a spelling mistake. If he purposely wrote Hanger when he knows the word used to describe a building is Hangar it is a grammatical mistake. I think. Title: Re: Spelling or grammar? Post by: Graham C on October 13, 2015, 12:35:45 PM I'd have claimed it was a typo ;)
