Much however will depend on where you are staying in. Many hotels now offer internet connection and they supplyy relevant leads and easy to follow instructions. Failing that, there is usually a freephone number where you can get further assistance. If it is a friends house, you can plug in to their setup (assuming they have one). Finally, something along the lines of a Notebook Adapter will help you pick up wi-fi (wireless connection) at many of the Coffee shops such as Starbucks. Personally I use the "Linksys Wireless G" model but there are plenty out there to choose from. I really hate computers, only 2 days ago i thought i would try and do something in my laptop and i had it all in bits on the floor and was readyto bin it, alas i got rescued by a minor.
Anyway i am staying in SanFransisco for 4 days where Hotel has high speed internet Access and my laptop is Wi Fi , i use Thomson Speedtouch... i guesss i better just ask them what i need to connect when i am out there. Then i am taking to the roads of Northern Cali ... going to various Casinos and do some sightseeing up in the Wilds..Bear hunting and some Whale Spotting.
