Post by: shipitgood on October 26, 2015, 12:22:56 PM
Just wondering if any1s read this book?

I got the book about a year ago and havn't got round to reading it yet.

It seems quite heavy going, lots of Math!

I'm going to try and get through the book, if anyone has read it, or yet to read it, and would like to go over some of the stuff from the book you can let me know.

It is canonical now in my opinion.

been doing lots of work using its pseudo GTO ranges.

The idea of thinking in terms of capture factor as opposed to equity is ze nuts also.

his two books are amongst the very best therotical material out there. most players, not just heads - up players can benefit from them

Basically thinking about how much of the pot certain hands will capture on the next street averaged over all run-outs and actions.

It explains why draws do better than their equity share, nails implied odds and generallly is a far more effective way of.evaluating hands than dealing in raw equity.

You can also use it preflop. Use a program like flopzilla to see how many weak pair, mid pair, strong pair, 2 pair, nuts, draws, gunshots etc. a hand makes and multiply those % by their relevant capture factors and you can get a good feel for how well a hand performs when flatting, limping, minraise etc.
