I'm seriously concerned about the amount of people stating preferences for the mass produced pies....  ;tk; As proper pie afficionados I'd expect to hear about favorite smaller, gourmet producers more. ;yellowcard;

I prefer my homemade Steak pie anyway. (best tips - 1/2 a pub bottle of tomato juice for tenderness & a chunk of oxtail to thicken the gravy & add flavour).

Killie pies won the pie making world championship a few years ago. I don't eat meat so have never tasted one.  But I am told they are fantastic.  Are you jelous now Kev, on my doorstep is a vast abundance of world class pies...lol

Sark you cruel cruel man...i'm a Scottish lass living in England and the one thing I miss more than ANYTHING is a steak/mince pie supper with brown sauce mmmmmmmmmm  English chippies are pants  :(

My dad is english and he complains that the scottish chipies are greasy. He prefers manchester fish and chips. They are suppose to be better.
