Title: EPL Manager of the season so far?
Post by: tikay on December 01, 2015, 01:42:51 PM
Tinkerman very popular, but for the most part, an inherited team & ethic, & two outstanding players.

Pelligrini, LvG & Arsene have not kicked on much, if at all.

Klopp? Love him, but a bit early to judge.

Vidic - much under-rated imo - will end up at a bigger club in due course.

Koeman? Some disappointment this season, but many would have never believed that possible 2 seasons ago.

Pardew? Seemingly unpopular with many, but he gets the job done, & Palace are firmly established in the EPL now. Some job, that.

Martinez? Lovely bloke, but it's similar to Moyes, never quite get there.

Watford? No idea who the current Manager/Coach is, they change every five minutes, but they have out-performed, for sure.

Eddie Howe gets great credit for sticking to his attacking guns.

Can't think of too many other contenders, except for the standout - Pochettino. Getting it quietly, week after week.  Must be close to best performance so far?

At the other end, worst effort? Hard to find much positive stuff to say about Steve McLaren, he does not appear to have improved much from what I can see.

Howe deserves real plaudits if he can keep his team up. How many in that team gets into a top half premier league team? Must have half a dozen of his first team out with injuries.

Poch was getting the tin tack six weeks into the season. Football is fickle.

Just like gambling.  So many rich people who fall into the short term results orientated trap who own clubs and don't understand tiny swings.  Do you think we will ever have a season where a gaffer isn't fired in the EPL mid season?  I think it is close to impossible the way football owners work in general.  Amazing really as most of the successful clubs (at their own level - i include teams like Stoke in this category as well as the proper success stories) don't operate like this but the other clubs never seem to learn.

Yeah , probably gonna leave Man Utd soon.

They should be OK though , lot of good youngsters coming through like Beckham ,Scoles ,Butt and Giggs.

LOL :D

Pains me to say it but spuds are looking good, Pochettino's done a great job.  Obv Ranieri too.

Hard to see any other manager that's done more than expected this season?

I was baffled by 'Vidic', had to look at the list of managers to work out who it was.
Ranieri!

Struggling to see how Howe gets credit in this thread while QSF seemingly gets none!

Has to be Ranieri for me.  Potch close second.
