Someone who did so much, for football & footballers.

Football owes Jimy a lot.

RIP.

Exactly this ^^^

I doubt most of todays millionaire players know the debt they owe him.  RIP Jimmy.

A great man.

I remember him playing for Fulham in the 1950's and he was (believe it or not) the only bearded player in the league.

Did far more for football and for the players than many would have realised.

RIP Jimmy.

Great bloke

Think I posted this before but I met his wife a few times at the care home he died in whilst visiting there.

Shared some thoughts I am quite sure she will be relieved she hated seeing him like that as anyone would.

Very sad.

Remember his banter with the Scotland fans and the Jimmy hill is a poof banner at a game.

Done great things for football.

RIP

Genuine, honest, articulate, intelligent & generous man who took all the jibes in good humour.

So sad that he was victim of such an ugly, indiscriminate disease.

May he rest in peace now, and his family be proud of a man who achieved so much in his lifetime.

I had forgotten some of the things he did, as there were so many. He was "Match of the Day" Presenter for years, & he once stood in for a linesman that fell ill & run the line at an Arsenal (?) game.

Pioneered "Supporters Trains" too, with the Sky Blue Special back in the day.

One of the few who has done something for everyone, Clubs (especially Fulham & Coventry), players, spectators, & the game generally.

I do hope football recognizes his passing in some way, via a commemorative Trophy or similar.

I suppose money will get in the way, but attaching his name to the Community Shield or FA Cup would be fitting.
