How do the Tories manage to get away with giving their electoral campaign manager a knighthood? An MBE at a push maybe, but a knighthood!

crony honours do nothing for me, but its not an isolated example and was to be entirely expected

spend 10+ years in politics, on whatever side, and you've got a good shot at a gong/peerage.

run an election campaign and win, you are a shoe in

whole system is an anachronism

Just seen Goldie was on the list this year with an MBE.

If any one was to get one to services to DnB he is a good choice, but is it really necessary?
