Title: What are the odds? Post by: tikay on May 24, 2016, 11:00:55 AM I'm trying to answer a question for a friend of mine. I don't even know how you measure the odds, or probability of such things, but if anyone can give me a steer on this, I'd appreciate it. If we toss a coin 146 times, logically it should come down heads roughly half of the time. (73 times). In fact, it came down 63-83, so "heads" was 10 flips out of sync. How probable is this? How often (as a %, perhaps?) will it come down 63-83? Sorry it's a bit vague, but there's good reason for asking. Title: Re: What are the odds? Title: Re: What are the odds? Post by: tikay on May 24, 2016, 02:22:28 PM busy day Tikay ? :D :) It is actually, that was really a disguised "work" question. Next Door do some 50/50 flip things, think they are called "Russian Roulette", they are used to gain Reward Points and are pure flips, 50/50 (minus rake). A friend lost 63 out of 146 and wondered what the odds of that were, hence my question. Customer service & all that. |
