Post by: I KNOW IT on June 04, 2016, 06:43:06 AM
R.I.P Muhammad Ali
Muhammad Ali sadly  has passed away at the age of 74

Considered by many as the greatest heavyweight of all time and probably the biggest name to pass away this year .

A true legend and one of the most recognized faces on the planet

He's one of those sporting figures whose name will never die. Even people who never saw him fight know he's the greatest of all time.

RIP Cassius.

"I done wrestled with an alligator, I done tussled with a whale; handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail; only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalised a brick; I'm so mean I make medicine sick."

Muhammed Ali

"The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights."

In my memory, he will always be dancing under those lights.

RIP Mr Ali.

Still get goose bumps listening to him.

The commentary by Harry Carpenter when he won the rumble in the jungle is my all time favourite.

What an inspirational guy, one of my childhood hero's.

RIP

Love this

I would have been the world’s greatest at whatever I did. If I were a garbage man, I’d be the world’s greatest garbage man! I’d pick up more garbage and faster than anyone has ever seen. To tell you the truth, I would have been the greatest at whatever I’d done!

As brave outside the ring as he was inside, well except for here

Truly missed

When asked how he wanted to be remembered..

I would like to be remembered as a man who won the heavyweight title three times, who was humorous, and who treated everyone right.

‘As a man who never looked down on those who looked above him.

‘Who stood up for his beliefs… Who tried to unite all humankind through faith and love.

‘And if all that’s too much, then I guess I’d settle for being remembered only as a great boxer who became a leader and a champion of his people.

‘And I wouldn’t mind if folks forgot how pretty I was.’

Some lovely photos in there, amazing how he seemed to be able to engage everyone around him regardless of anything
Very sad loss but have enjoyed reading the many obituaries

Have read many books about him and his life but still learnt many new and wonderful stories over the last 24hrs
