Title: How to stop spam emails? Post by: aaron1867 on July 12, 2016, 02:02:53 AM I've had an influx of spam emails over the last week and it's getting annoying now. I've tried everything, most of the time unsubscribe usually works, but has made it worse. I've tried blocking & makes no difference, then tried a website someone suggested & it hasn't worked.
Any suggestions? Title: Re: How to stop spam emails? Post by: Ironside on July 12, 2016, 02:23:12 AM can be a really pain, best thing you can do is create a new email and swap everything to that.
i have a similair problem with my mobile phone, i got 1 or 2 spam calls a month untill recently when i think i made the mistake of annoying a call centre worker who i think has put my number into some spam database i am now getting a dozen calls a day and nothing i can do about it wish i could change my number but i still have 12 months of contract left when it looks like i will just sign up for new contract with new number rather than an upgrade Title: Re: How to stop spam emails? It's the perfect opportunity to get $10 million from a Nigerian prince, grow a 2 foot pecker, purchase a lifetime's supply of Viagra at a very decent price and then marry a beautiful young Russian girl who just needs the cost of the flight to come to England to meet you. You just need to widen your horizons and take a chance. Title: Re: How to stop spam emails? Any suggestions? Unsubscribing to spam usually a bad idea. It lets the spammer know your account is live and results in more spam Usually only surefire way is a new email addy Title: Re: How to stop spam emails? She just phoned 'em up and they gave her a new number/sim Title: Re: How to stop spam emails? It feels more like spamming though, emails only sent at certain times, sent as soon as I turn phone on. Some are going to my junk email, but 15-20 a day are coming to my inbox :( Be a shame to change email, plus there's so many accounts and so on to the email to re-attach. :( Title: Re: How to stop spam emails? Post by: Jon MW on July 12, 2016, 07:31:17 AM I have half a dozen email addresses going in to my Outlook at work for various clients so I get a lot of spam.
I have a whole bunch of rules set up to look for spam phrases and just have them sent straight to 'delete'. I think other email clients have a similar function, if you can do that it deals with almost all types of spam - you'd be pretty unlucky if the spam you're getting is only the spam which isn't easily dealt with through spam phrase filters. I had the same problem so phoned o2 and within a day or two had a new number. You can only change it once a year though, so don't be annoying any one else Title: Re: How to stop spam emails? I hate spam I found it very distracting when I was finishing off The Mental Game of Poker 2 (paperback now currently £9 + delivery at Amazon) Title: Re: How to stop spam emails? Post by: EvilPie on July 13, 2016, 04:38:51 PM Have you tried deleting them?
I get about 30 a day and find that the similar quantity of seconds it takes to remove them all isn't a major catastrophe. Title: Re: How to stop spam emails?
