Title: Reece Post by: mondatoo on July 28, 2016, 01:40:37 AM I was reading Reece's thread a few weeks ago to find out he had yet another surgery he had to go thru and thought that since so many of us have followed his journey for most of his life that it would be nice if we as a group could give Reece some sort of reward from us that he so thoroughly deserves.
So I contacted Maureen who spoke with Stacey to find out if they were ok with my plan and hopefully Maureen doesn't mind me quoting from the PMs we exchanged when she told me "I would never deprive Reece by letting pride get in the way". Maureen mentioned in one of the recent updates she provided us with that Reece enjoyed playing on his Xbox 360 so I asked if it would be a good idea for the goal to be to get him an Xbox one S that comes out on the 2nd August and she said he would like that so this is the goal. It would cost £349 to do this so the plan would be if we hit the target of £349 Reece will get the new Xbox one 2gb S, if we go over that total between £350-500 I would suggest Reece would get the console plus the rest as a Microsoft gift card to buy games etc for the console. If it goes over £500 then Reece would get the console and it would be left to Maureen, Stacey and co to decide what they choose to do with the rest for Reece. I had originally planned to create a Just Giving page to do this but they take a 5% charge and then when I looked at some of the other sites that seemed the best there was some concerning negative feedback so since I assume my rep is good with my history on here then the best, easiest way to do this would be for me to do the admin etc and then I sort it out with Maureen. If people thinks it's better to create a Just Giving page feel free to pm me or post here and I'll happily do that instead otherwise you can send to me via Pokerstars (mondonewc), PayPal (mondo03newc@yahoo.co.uk), Skrill (mondo03newc@gmail.com) or Bank (pm for details). It all started from meeting Tony at a Sheffield poker game and then Tom at Blackpool, although I dont get to play anymore you, the poker community and our online family have helped us immensely both with emotional support and treating Reece to adventures including Orlando which we would never have been able to give him if it wasnt for all your very kind generosity. I wish i could put into words just how grateful we are. You guys really are the nuts. Having gone through a few scary times with my son over the last six months, I can really appreciate a small fraction of how hard it must have been for the parents over the years but seeing the expression on Reece's face must give them an incredible boost. Reece absolutely loves his Xbox, it is perfect for him. He has gained some online friends and can just play away till his hearts content. You guys got it at the perfect time, school holidays which means that when his energy levels arnt high he always has some thing to play on.
