Title: It'll all come out in the wash.
Post by: tikay on August 25, 2016, 11:00:22 AM

Hypothetical question. (Asking for a friend, obv).

Imagine you put your jeans in the washing machine, (60 degrees, fast spin) & in the pocket of those jeans was (or should that be "were"?) all your "plastic", comprising 2 Debit Cards, 2 Credit Cards, a Charge Card, a Driving Licence, &, just to add to his woe, a wedge of folding money.

Would the cards still work in the normal manner in ATM's & things?

Guess so.   I put a remote control through and much of it still worked.

Why 60 though?  I just bung everything through at 40.

Pretty sure it buggers up mobile phones.

60 is necessary, gotta remove stains & things, obv.

40 is OK for skid marks but you need 60 for grass.

If only there was some way of finding out for sure.

60° though! Those jeans gonna fade, especially as you are obviously not washing them inside-out.

Fear of rejection is not limited to human interface, you know. When an ATM or the petrol station declines our card, it's SO humiliating.

When we were in Italy on our motorcycle trip we booked an Airb&b that featured a washing machine as one of its attractions. When I asked to use it the Italian girl who was our host pointed to herself and then to the washing, meaning "I'll do it for you". I pointed at myself as if to say, It's OK, I can do it". She shook her head vigorousley and uttered the only words of English we herd her speak during our stay.

"You are man. Pfft!"

Jeans in the washing machine at 60? Mr Strauss would be spinning in his grave!

'They say' that you're supposed to wash them as little as possible, they're more than sturdy enough to not end up wet and smelly unless you're going wade fishing in them :D

I reckon the cards will probably be fine, even the cheap lighters come back after going through the wash. The newer 20s do surprisingly well in the wash, especially if you find a bartender who isn't paying much attention

The £20 notes were fine, just a bit wrinkly when they dried out.

Looking on the bright side, at least he has a clean driving licence now.
