"Probably the greatest living poet" - why Bob Dylan won the Nobel Prize for Literature http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37645503?ocid=socialflow_twitter&ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbcnews&ns_source=twitter Title: Re: How does it feel? Post by: atdc21 on October 13, 2016, 08:28:59 PM I like Joan Baez singing his songs.
But think her best song is Diamonds and rust, which is about Bob Dylan. Title: Re: How does it feel? Post by: teddybloat on October 13, 2016, 09:26:11 PM Nice to see him appropriately placed amongst his true peers.
What a heady time the 60s must have been. The Beatles reinventing and reshaping popular music, and Dylan weaving his radical words and music. Artists that tower over their contemporaries. That's the thing about the Beatles and Dylan, their peers weren't the stones and Donovan: they rub shoulders with Beethoven and milton. Spent many a long hour lost in Dylan's world, same with Lennon and McCartney. Imagine you could live in Shakespeare's time, potentially meet the bard, imagjne you could travel back to hear Liszt play the piano or ask Bach about his thoughts on composition. Two absolute titans of, music and poetry live in our world. We can hear them play live, are directly touched their art. In 500 years people will imagine what it would be like to live in their world, watch them create their art. Tis a beautiful thought. Well played lads, a privilage to have lived in your time Title: Re: How does it feel? Post by: Tal on October 13, 2016, 09:57:39 PM Looking forward to seeing:
