Title: WSOP Betting
Post by: SuuPRlim on October 29, 2016, 11:33:07 AM
Has this thread already been started? What does everyone make of the prices?

I'd like to take Vojtech vs Benger in a HU bet, Benger seems to be everyones pick at the prices available.

Would take a big bet if someone offered 1.15:1

Having played with Qui Nguyen I was initially going to lay him for the max but I don't like it at ~6.5 on matchbook, he's by far the weakest of the 9 but with all the pros likely to be hyper aware of ICM he may well have a shot at winning with his stack if he finds a cooler vs Josephy or still has it 4/5 handed.

Others also liked Ruane, and I thought he played very good days 4 and 5, I shared a table for most of the day he played very aggressive preflop on my left but with the table we had I had to let him get away with it. Didn't see many showdowns though I got the impression he didn't have it. Perhaps he's very good against weak opponents but may struggle to do the same here. But if he does bring his fearless game back also has a chance.

My two picks are Vojtech at ~10-11 and Ruane at 13-14

I'm really looking forward to watching it this year, does anyone know if Matchbook are having in-play bets?

Here is my bet

Winning Hole Cards. Any pocket pair 7/1
http://www.oddschecker.com/poker/world-series-of-poker/winning-hole-cards

I've gone through the stats of winning hole cards from Wikipedia from no limit holdem tournaments where it shows the winning hand. I've excluded mixed games/Pot Limit/Limit and ante up.

Here is my data: (pocket pairs/total tournaments)

WSOP Mains 13/44
12/35 WSOP 2016
9/34 WSOP 2015
5/33 WSOP 2014
6/36 WSOP 2013
10/45 EPT first five seasons (doesn't show hole cards on wikipedia after that)
16/38 WSOPE and Australia all time

Total 71/265 tournies where the winning hand was a pocket pair.

Only available in two spots, see how much you can get on with them both!

Great Spot Phil

Surely they have that wrong  ? if you have a shove and a call AIPF .surely the bookies are pricing up as if they are playing all the streets  ( possible of course)

two players HU for the title  a short stack shove with any pair or big ace....if theres a call normally its by a pair or big ace  FLIP at 7-1  ?  ( not exactly I know )

could be pair v pair AIPF too

Dubai posted that bet a few years ago, it must have been the main event and it won that year :)

I'll take evens for £50 Fraser, can't be tempted my 450 to your 500?  ;)

Based on who they have all chosen as coaches should be going big on Hallaert and Griffin. Would strongly suggest NOT betting against Griffin.

Contrastingly think Vojtech has by far the weakest of all coachig team, but going into the whole thing he was probably one of the better guys.

Massively unimpressed with Ruane, wouldn't bet him.

Jonnybax practically a fish, wouldn't bet.

people always surprise us in the main, personal circumstances play a big part. Note how easy Griffen cracked during the will kassouf hand! Say what you want about WK but Griffen blew up in that hand (lucky it didn't matter) rumours are he's on small % and in a monster life hole, that could have big affect. We all know jonnybax has 100% and comfortable life situation, combined with loads of experience that could play a big part.

Vayo is a super degenerate I heard he never squared luke up i think he owed over 500, I'd guess unlikely to have much of himself. Pure speculation though.

I think if you know what % each player has it defo has a big edge for betting - the difference between 9th and 4th might be hugely different for different players, making ICM considerations different (is that right?) I bet jonnybax knows exactly who has what % of themselves...

So tilting I can only log on Blonde on a certain browser on a certain PC where the password is autosaved lol

Was going to take the 500 and see if Lil Dave would give me better than evens :(

Assume the £50 was booked though?

Have only caught a few hands on the screens at DTD, going to watch the replay tomorrow afternoon
