Title: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 11, 2016, 03:43:09 PM £100 - 5k
Myself and 4 friends have put £20 in a pot for a total of £100 and we are going to roll the money over backing short priced bets hoping to get to 5k and all scoop a 1k share.. I will post all bets on here to keep track and bring some of you along for the ride. All bets will be placed on BF. Bet 1 £100 on France to beat Sweden at 1/3 Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: Peter-27 on November 11, 2016, 05:51:44 PM Will be following with interest.
First bet seems very risky to me though, I don't think 1/3 is a very good price at all, Sweden are a good side. Hope you win :) Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 12, 2016, 10:06:16 PM Bet 1 landed... Never in doubt ;karabiner;
Balance: £131.25 Aftertime Alert!!! I have been busy at work all day and havent had chance to post bet 2. We all decided that England and Australia would be a good double at 1/2 today... needless to say we got very very lucky with the Australia game. Bet 2 landed... ;gobsmacked; Balance: £206.41 Bet 3... We have laid Stephen Smith to lose against James Sosa tonight!! ;scarymoment; Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 12:49:30 AM Landed the 3rd!!!
Great fight, Smith shown huge balls! Balance...£328.29 Not looked at anything tomorrow yet but will update once we have decided where its going!! If nothing else were all having a good laugh doing it! :D Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: celtic on November 13, 2016, 01:41:33 AM Good luck.
So much better than when Eso tried something similar. :) Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 02:13:34 AM Good luck. So much better than when Eso tried something similar. :) I just read through the 40odd pages of Eso's £20 - 40k.... I think the most anyone got was 9 winning bets but from starting with £10 or £20 and cashing out a couple of times prematurely/wisely. Lets hope this thread has some run good and we get to the 5k :D Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 11:45:31 AM We are toying with the idea of Bet 4 being... Rosberg to podium at 1/3
Figure Rosberg wont do anything stupid and will coast to a podium finish, damage limitation finish 2nd and head to Abu Dhabi firmly in the driving seat!! Any thoughts? Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: TightEnd on November 13, 2016, 12:00:07 PM We are toying with the idea of Bet 4 being... Rosberg to podium at 1/3 Figure Rosberg wont do anything stupid and will coast to a podium finish, damage limitation finish 2nd and head to Abu Dhabi firmly in the driving seat!! Any thoughts? is it going to rain? is it going to be wet then dry then wet? looks like it might be. introduces a big risk variable into a bet at 1/3.... Australia to beat England in the rugby league at 2pm is one to consider. 1/3. but do your own work, don't want to be responsible for you getting gubbed! Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 01:01:17 PM hmmm.. Slight change to the original plan... ;hide; ;hide;
The majority want to lump it on Sheff United to beat Chesterfield... Sheff United unbeated in the last 6 and Chesterfield win less in 6... ;esochomp; ;esochomp; so Bet 4 is £329.28 on Sheff United at 7/10 Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: Peter-27 on November 13, 2016, 03:07:53 PM We are toying with the idea of Bet 4 being... Rosberg to podium at 1/3 Figure Rosberg wont do anything stupid and will coast to a podium finish, damage limitation finish 2nd and head to Abu Dhabi firmly in the driving seat!! Any thoughts? Wouldn't have been a bad shout at 1/3. Mercedes do have concerns about their starts this weekend though, and if they end up in the pack, they'll struggle. Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 03:25:09 PM Not the best start... Chesterfield score 1:30 into the first half!! :S
Long way to go!! Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 04:37:07 PM Back in it... 1-1 30 mins to go!!
Common the BLADES!!! Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 04:49:31 PM BOOM 3-1!!!!
17 minutes to go!! Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 05:12:46 PM After 4 bets the running total is £558.09
Looking at the internationals tonight to go for the 5th!! Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: redsimon on November 13, 2016, 05:31:46 PM Good luck, are you doing these on Betfair?
Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 05:35:35 PM Good luck, are you doing these on Betfair? Yeah all on BF... Just been talking to the lads, and the majority want to put £100 aside so we have a free bullet if we fall at the next... and carry on running with the £458. Seems the sensible idea, but not what we had initially agreed... We cant agree anything on the football tonight so might do over .5 on something in running. Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 05:50:32 PM OK... Bet 5 is a 4 fold on tonights internationals!!
We have £458.09 riding on Switzerland 1/12 Hungary 1/20 Portugal 1/20 Belgium 1/20 Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: celtic on November 13, 2016, 05:51:55 PM Bottlers!
You can scrape £20 each and start again? Thread has so much potential. Don't wimp out. Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: arbboy on November 13, 2016, 07:34:01 PM What commission are you paying on betfair exchange?
Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 07:39:38 PM Hi Arb... The only bet ive put on the exchange was laying Smith, the rest ive just done on the sportsbook BF site.
Id imagine im on the highest rate of commission cause im just a casual gambler... not like some of you seasoned pros. Hungary winning 3-0 Swiss winning 2-0! Half way there :) Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 13, 2016, 10:36:43 PM We march on.. 5th bet landed! Probably the most straight forward of the bets so far... had a bit of a sweat in the Portugal game, but all ran out easy winners in the end.
Hungary 4 - 0 Swiss 2 - 0 Belgium 8 - 1 Portugal 3 - 1 Total Balance: £674.49 Initial stake removed as a 2nd bullet when/if needed £100 £574.49 going into the bet 6!! Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: Cavey007 on November 13, 2016, 11:01:43 PM Good work!

Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 15, 2016, 05:35:47 PM Afternoon all,
After a lot of deliberation, we have decided that today is a no play day... we could easily punt it off on something tonight, but we all feel that there isnt anything stand out that we all agree with. (Supposed this is one of the issues of it not being off my own back) but then again, it should keep us disciplined. We liked the look of Argentina tonight v Columbia, but looking into recent results show its not a good bet. 1 goal in 3 games and 2 0-0 draws. We looked at Rochdale v Maidstone Utd, 50 odd league positions between them but not something we feel comfortable throwing 700+ quid at. I liked the look of Novak tonight to be Raonic but everything suggests that Novak isnt in a good place at the minute and is struggling with his mental side of the game. After yesterdays suggestion of reading Buying shit way of the nit, I managed to get to page 50 last night, and will continue reading tonight. Im glad that this thread has re-invigorated the old thread and hope one of you go on a good run! Till tomorrow... :D Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 16, 2016, 01:12:41 PM Im at work so cannot post detailed report...

Maybe restricted in certain markets based on the event in question but not closed. It's not like these are bets that are best priced or where there is an edge that is apparent after the event (no offence meant to the OP btw). If anything, I'd have thought that firms would be pretty happy to oblige this type of rolling acca.

I don't get involved in a great deal else tbh because i can't get the volume on to justify doing the work. I probably turn over more a month in betting shops fucking around having a score a spin playing roulette a couple of times a month than i do in actual bets. Why you have a pop at pros who pay £30 for half hour massage if you dabble in roulette then lol ul chelseaboy :( Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: Weetabix on November 17, 2016, 10:07:33 PM Great stuff, good thread to follow when the pot keeps ticking over.
Your betfair statement must be hell to scroll back through for info on a particular race ;D. Lots of advantage using exchange, you don't have to worry about being paid out or closed down at least. You don't think you can beat roulette odds also do you? Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: FUN4FRASER on November 18, 2016, 01:39:47 PM What would be great to do is for me to put up the selections and 50 different people all try and busto bfsb at the same time with the same bets rolling up! if the bet came in x 50 they would probably try and invoke " the syndicate/collusion rule " # free-rolling the bet Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: FUN4FRASER on November 18, 2016, 01:41:26 PM Bad luck, good fun though. will you be giving it another go Arb are you having to resort to shop bookies and exchange only these days to pay your way? 99% of my turnover week to week is laying dogs on betfair. We have licked our wounds, and ready to come back and go again! We have drafted in another runner so the starting stack now is £120. It will be invested tonight on Celtic to win away to Kilmarnock at 1/7! BET 1 Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 19, 2016, 01:05:32 AM Landed Bet 1 - £141.82
Bet - 2 High flying Scunthorpe to beat Oldham tomorrow at 4/6 Seems insignificant after dropping a bag on John Higgins, we have decided that we wont be betting on any short format events... ie (snooker best of 7, Early stage darts, ATP 2 set Tennis matches) Im glad that this thread has got the "buying shit way of the nit" thread going again... Good to see one of the lads reach his target in a couple of days!! Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: T_Mar on November 22, 2016, 09:35:22 AM Great thread - Nothing like degenerate spin up to get everyone excited 😂
Good luck kid Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: tikay on November 22, 2016, 09:47:39 AM Great thread - Nothing like degenerate spin up to get everyone excited 😂 Good luck kid Totally agree - a really enjoyable thread, & everyone enjoying themselves. An absolute delight to read. Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: Horneris on November 22, 2016, 11:22:26 AM ATP 2 set Tennis matches) Do you mean 3 set matches? I wouldn't say there was anywhere near as much variance in those as the darts and snooker matches you mentioned. Quality usually comes out in the end over a 3 set match. Tiebreaks are where the variance is. Saying this, its probably irrelevant as apart form the Davis Cup Final, there is no proper tennis now till Jan 4th :'( Good luck with this, enjoyed the first attempt. Barcelona look good on Wednesday ;carlocitrone; Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: Killerkilsby on November 22, 2016, 11:28:30 AM Landed Bet 1 - £141.82 Bet - 2 High flying Scunthorpe to beat Oldham tomorrow at 4/6 Seems insignificant after dropping a bag on John Higgins, we have decided that we wont be betting on any short format events... ie (snooker best of 7, Early stage darts, ATP 2 set Tennis matches) Im glad that this thread has got the "buying shit way of the nit" thread going again... Thats a champions tiebreak where in certain doubles matches instead of a 3rd set they play a first to 10 points (which acts as a similar duration to maybe half a normal set). I know a lot of you are going to be disappointed with this update, but we have pulled the stake again... I know its only £20 a man but gives us another free bullet incase this one goes down again! Seems the right thing to do... In theory we've had all this banter for free so far... playing with the bookies money :) That being said... we had a BR of £520.68, we have pulled £120 and are rolling tonight with £400.68 on Bayern Munich at 1.28. Im not sure if ive been closed down on the BFSB but they would not accept my bet... so we are on the exchanges and will be paying top rate of commision due to being small time punters! We have already decided that once Bayern win (Positive Thinking) we are going to roll it onto Napoli who need to win tonight to qualify. Bet 4 £400.68 at 1.28 Bayern Munich to beat Rostov! You have been closed if you can't get a monkey on a 2/7 shot in the champions league. What an embarrassment BFSB really are. If you are planning on using bf exchange going forward for all your bets happy to put on for you on my 2% premium charge free account if you wish. Your choice. Difference between 2% and 5% will add up as your bets roll up. PM me if you interested. Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: Killerkilsby on November 23, 2016, 05:53:42 PM Evening all... Sick way to lose. Reckon betfair paid Rostov off :-( Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: chelseaboy on November 23, 2016, 09:39:41 PM So bullet 2 has died... bit sickening to think European giants lose to russian minnows, but not to worry!! Im sure we are going to have many ups and downs before we hit the 5k.
Killerskilsby - to answer your question, no the plan isnt to take a percentage out but to reach the goal... once we get to 5k we will split it. I think once we get to 500+ we will buy ourselves a free bullet like we have the last 2 times but that will be it... the ultimate goal is getting to the 5k... we all live in diff parts of the country and have already spoken on numerous occasions about all meeting up for the bet to take us to 5k :D Arb - Thanks for the offer mate, I will put it to the rest and let you know. very kind gesture! Ok!!! So we lost £400 on Bayern earlier on... we have kinda gone on tilt and put the £120 3rd bullet on Man City, Barca and Napoli in the 19:45 KO games... currently HT with Barca 1 nil up and both City and Napoli drawing! Lets Go! Big events like chelseaboy is punting on will always be fine. I've had a look round and it does seem better than it was, but then I went to look into laying Zenit this afternoon and wasn't massively impressed Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: superwomble on November 24, 2016, 01:06:45 PM Fair enough with that example, although for chelseaboy it shows that Smarkets would be better than Betfair as not only is it lower commission it's better odds with more money available!

Bet 1 - £100 - Newcastle 1/3 doubled up with Liverpool at 2/11 I think we were spoiled with our first run, getting up to 1k so quickly... we have got greedy on the last attempt and need to stick to the original plan and stay disciplined... short prices with a bit of research, not just punting blind on any 1/3 shot. Good Luck to all punting today! Title: Re: £100 - 5k Challenge Post by: exstream on November 26, 2016, 01:14:22 PM What were the finds of your research on today's picks ;)
