Title: Proof of I'D needed for NHS care
Post by: nirvana on November 22, 2016, 01:46:56 PM
Is this reactionary nonsense in line with the zeitgeist or something we should all expect given we pay for it like. I can't make my mind up

I don't see why it's an issue, certainly would cut down on health tourism.

Hospitals and the NHS are meant to check that patients are eligible for free treatment now - it's just that most don't do anything about it.

There's no indication that anyone will be denied treatment if they haven't got ID, they've more suggested that they'll try and work on some method for those that don't own any ID.

Kind of what I assumed but with no knowledge. Massive undertaking to get yourself in a position to actually  charge. No idea if it's worth it for the revenue it might collect.

Also was kind of alluding to this being some slightly harsh sounding rhetoric with no intent or mechanism to actually operate differently
