Title: Re: massive overbet Post by: Rexas on December 26, 2016, 02:33:46 AM Meh I'm probably folding, if he's got it we're basically dead and I think it's reasonable to assume that we're better off just surviving at this stage when I'd imagine the majority of people around us are going to be making pretty severe mistakes. The Kh doesn't help, and if he's ripping one of the likely draws then we're not in particularly good shape. Any high stakes pros wanna come in and offer their opinion? ;)
Title: Re: massive overbet Post by: pleno1 on December 26, 2016, 02:51:14 AM snapping and loving it. he can have anything
Title: Re: massive overbet Post by: shipitgood on December 26, 2016, 03:22:34 AM I would call, but we are not loving it!
He is going to have two sorts of hands here mostly. Some draws and some 2 pair type hands, but it's never the nuts eg a straight, and I wouldn't say it was top pair either. Although it is such an erratic bet, could it be simply a Jack? It is certainly unusual his donk all in. How has he been playing up to this hand? That will really answer your question. In a vacuum we are calling, but reads are really important here. When we play poker we tell a story. Someone who donk jams j78 2 flushing board has probably left a massive trail before this hand was played. I would say he has a flush draw or a weak 2 pair type hand. Title: Re: massive overbet Post by: WotRTheChances on December 26, 2016, 04:15:34 AM Going to make assumptions that this is a pretty low BI MTT and/or the villain in the hand is not a reg.
Depending on who it is, they could have anything from any Jx, any OESD, pair+GS, maybe even just random 8x hands, or they could be the type to purely have 2 pair/combo draws. In reality it'll be somewhere in between, but KK does pretty well against all but the tightest of ranges. GTO wise you 'should' defend 15% and KK will firmly lay within that, although i'd probably be calling wider than 15% vs most randoms in this spot, as they will be unbalanced and weighted towards hands we have good equity against. Title: Re: massive overbet Post by: Ironside on December 26, 2016, 06:48:22 AM I snapped called and held against qj, was thinking after it about how deep we needed to be to make the call . Obviously we would just make a mental note and snap fold early in an event like the wsop me if the shove was for 100+ blinds with just 6 in the middle.
But let's say in this case we both had 3x average rather than just above average does this make the fold more attractive Title: Re: massive overbet Post by: pleno1 on December 26, 2016, 08:01:42 AM No we just Always snap. No good player is ever going to play any realistic range like this so any bad player who makes this erratic hand is going to have hands like this that we just kill.
Folding would be absurdly bad, I'd call 1000bbs open jam. Title: Re: massive overbet Post by: SuuPRlim on December 26, 2016, 10:33:23 AM People do wierd things, don't let them drag you into the mud! When they click the wrong button you have to keep clicking the correct one.

Quote But let's say in this case we both had 3x average rather than just above average does this make the fold more attractive There are situations where you might want to edge pass a marginal spot, but I doubt this will ever be one of them. |
