We started (and ended) the year with a rash of deaths of celebrities/stars, passed through Brexit and Trump both big underdogs this time last year. A 5000-1 winner of the Premier League. We saw by an attempted coup in Turkey and were saddened by the crisis in Aleppo

Looking ahead, what do you expect in 2017? this could be politicial, cultural, sporting, entertainment......you could give us a sure thing, or a long shot or two. We can revisit and bow to your predictive geniuses in a year's time....

Similar prediction this year, of the current UFC belt holders, only Conor McGregor and Demitrious Johnson will still be belt holders, although I hope I'm wrong about Michael Bisping.

I'm reliably informed from people that work in the industry that a new wave of automation and robotics are about to make the first real inroads probably this year after years of development. Will probably start to cost some people their jobs and they will have to find new avenues of employment.

People will have forgotten that 2016 was the crappiest year ever and decided that 2017 is now the crappiest year ever.

A major mainstream media/news organisation (CNN, New York Times, Guardian etc) to go bust.

Geert Wilders to win the Dutch election, the French Socialist party to lose the French election and Angela Merkell to win the German election.

Serious trouble (like somebody dying) from protestors during Trump's inauguration (maybe not at the event itself but protests around the US)

No attempts to get rid of Corbyn by the PLP. Probably a good year for him compared to this one.

Loads more lifelong heavy drug using celeb's will die very young and people will continue to be surprised that they are dying young.

Brexit will prove too complicated and detrimental to work.

Trump will be assassinated or impeached.

Abramovich pulls out of Chelsea after a criminal investigation begins into the source and manner of his funding of the club and they are forced into administration.

Tiger Woods will blast back onto the scene of his first major by winning the Masters. We will all be left wondering how on earth that was 2 decades ago. #sundayred
