Title: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 03, 2006, 06:56:25 PM Yes, the proper form of rugby is back. Forget your 16 nations nonsense.
There is money to be made this season. Starting tonight: Bradford vrs West Tigers in the World Club Challenge. The Aussies don't like temperatures below 25C and lets be honest, it's bleeding freezing tonight. That coupled with their long trip over from kanga land and the fact British teams have won 8 out of 11 of these games, makes it a Bradford win for me. Key player Deacon, for the Bulls, could also start. -4 on the handicap for just slightly odds-on. Lump on. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Graham C on February 03, 2006, 07:04:55 PM Bradford win for me too
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Acidmouse on February 03, 2006, 09:32:12 PM 24-4 atm looking like a bradford win.
Bradford will be favorites for the grand final. Everyother team has gone backwords but it seems that have retained a solid team with one or two nice additions unlike Leeds :( Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Graham C on February 03, 2006, 09:34:16 PM oops, forgot all about this - cheers for the update :)
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 03, 2006, 09:47:32 PM Bradford 30 - 10 winners in the end. No trouble at all.
Lump now being collected with some interest 8) ;letsparty; Title: Re: Superleague Post by: TightEnd on February 04, 2006, 01:16:27 AM great tip Paul, thanks very much
I have an acquaintance who makes fortunes out of betting on rugby league supremacies. The particular intricacy that makes RL so interesting as a betting medium for him is that once a team scores they receive the ball back from the kick off. Thus a superior team has the chance of running up a cricket score. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 10, 2006, 04:31:31 PM It's Round one of superleague this weekend. More lumps to be invested in the following:
Newly promoted Castleford entertain a strong Hull side at home tonight. Sky Sports 8pm. Hull are 1.25 on the match odds market but I think they can beat Castleford by 20 or more IF they start the game well and score inside the first 15-20 mins. They should be too strong late in the second half. Hopefully the points will mount up there. Hull @ 1.87 on Betfair -10.5 points on the handicap. On Sunday, my tip to win a trophy this season, Warrington, take on Salford. Warrington have signed some cracking players to add to a fierce squad, whilst Salford's play maker Luke Robinson is injured. Warrington should be far too classy. Warrington @ 1.88 on Betfair -14.5 points on the handicap. Lump on! Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Acidmouse on February 10, 2006, 04:38:14 PM Well i hope classy cas can beat Hull tonight thats for sure. I would have a bet myself but I want to see how the teams settle down after a few weeks. Gl with the bet.
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 10, 2006, 04:42:01 PM It's been a while since they were classy :)
I remember watching St.John Ellis play on the wing a long time ago, they had a good side then.... but since? I hope they stay up though, I always enjoyed going to Cas. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Graham C on February 10, 2006, 04:52:17 PM Aren't Wigan playing a French side tonight ?
edit: Les Catalans but the odds aren't really worth it Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 10, 2006, 04:58:44 PM Wigan on Saturday. Tough to predict IMO
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Acidmouse on February 10, 2006, 06:38:21 PM Always a nice trip to see Leeds trash cas at the jungle :)
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 10, 2006, 10:00:41 PM Castleford 18 - 42 Hull
;karabiner; More lumping on this Sunday. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Acidmouse on February 11, 2006, 08:07:28 PM Wigan lost 38-30 to the frenchteam.
Distinctly average Wigan. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 11, 2006, 08:25:46 PM LOL! Glad I avoided that one. I said it was a tough prediction.
Lump ready for Warrington tomorrow though. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: SKIPPYSKIP on February 11, 2006, 08:53:26 PM Mickey Mouse game for you softies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 11, 2006, 09:38:41 PM Behave yourself Skip and get a lump on Warrington tomorrow.
Easy money. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 12, 2006, 03:55:30 PM Warrington 0 - 10 Salford at HT.
;scarymoment; Taxi!! Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 25, 2006, 05:23:41 PM Warrington are on the box in half an hour. They've lost their opening two games, although by all accounts they were unlucky in their second match. Hull are the opposition tonight.
There is 1.4 available for Warrington with 14.5 points start on the handicap. A little bit short but I don't see Hull beating them by 15. From scratch they are 2.84, much better value, as on their day they can beat anybody. I've taken 2.84 to make up for the Salford pain. ;pokergods; Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 25, 2006, 06:54:31 PM Warrington 18 - 24 Hull at H/T
Warrington with the wind behind them in the 2nd half. Hull have done a lot of tackling and could get tired late on. Yes, I'm grasping at straws :) Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 25, 2006, 07:51:43 PM Warrington 46 - 24 Hull
Wahoo! ;letsparty; Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Acidmouse on February 26, 2006, 12:55:40 AM Did you see saints vs leeds friday night? bloody dirty saints.
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on February 27, 2006, 11:43:42 AM I didn't see it Acid but it doesn't surprise me. Saints have been like that for years now. They are not always outright dirty, they often do the niggly things that the refs don't notice to wind opponents up, knees in the tackle, hand in face, etc.
They'll get the slapping they deserve at Warrington this coming weekend. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: Acidmouse on February 28, 2006, 06:40:15 PM Two of them up for bad conduct charges after the Leeds game, pity the ref was so crap he missed it.
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on March 03, 2006, 09:04:12 AM Warrington, with +8.5 on the handicap, are just a shade odds-on to beat Saints tonight.
St Helens team news is not great in the forwards. Sculthorpe is banned, as is James Graham. Fozzard is out injured. Warrington are without Reardon but are almost full strength beyond that. In the three meetings between both clubs last season, Saints won two of them by under 3 points, stealing victory with the last play of the game in both cases. Warrington, quite simply, never beat Saints. However, 8.5 points is enough for a "mini lump on" for me. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on March 03, 2006, 09:50:52 PM Warrington 10 - 18 St Helens
.5 of a point enough for a "mini lump" winner 8) ;letsparty; Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on April 16, 2006, 04:22:51 PM It's been a while but there's more boot filling fun on Monday for those of you who like money.
Warrington took another beating from Salford on Friday but travel to crappy Cas for this one. Cas get 4.5 start on BF where Warrington are 1.75. Better, I think, is the 6 points Cas are given on Hills with Warrington at 10/11. Warrington by 14 - 18 I think. Lump on! Step down a few divisions to League 2 - London Skolars take on Swinton. Skolars have played two and let in over 50 points on average per game. Swinton are running hot early on and should pile on the points. Skolars get 16.5 on the BF handicap, better is 16 from Littlewoods Bet Direct and 10/11 for Swinton. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on April 17, 2006, 06:30:33 PM Swinton did beat Skolars but only by 14. Two missed kicks (4 points) spoiling the bet.
Warrington are currently beating Castlesford 6 - 28 at H/T. The lump is looking healthy so far. Bookmakers shortened Warrington to 8/11 for -6 today. ;pokergods; ;pokergods; ;pokergods; don't go to sleep in the 2nd half Warrington. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on April 17, 2006, 07:36:17 PM Easy money.
Castleford 6 - 64 Warrington ;letsparty; Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on May 05, 2006, 06:10:45 PM More boot filling fun for superleague fans (me) tonight:
Wakefield travel to Salford for the 8pm kick-off. Salford are punching well above their weight but have suffered quite a few injuries to key players before this game. Wakefield are generally poor and will need to find something extra to win this one. That said, the outright market is terrible. So, I'm going for Wakey at +10.5 on the handicap at a shade odds-on. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on May 05, 2006, 08:48:40 PM Wakefield lead 14 - 0 at HT. (24.5 - 0 for the bet)
So far, so good. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on May 05, 2006, 08:58:57 PM Wakefield now 1.05 on BF with the handicap :)up
Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on May 05, 2006, 09:21:06 PM All green now.
£209 Salford £70 Wakey Salford fighting back too Not that anybody gives a stuff. Title: Re: Superleague Post by: MrMoves on May 05, 2006, 09:53:26 PM There is confusion over the scoreline now. Sporting Life has apparently reported a disallowed try as a try.
Salford made a remarkable come back and, it appears, have won 26 - 12. (26 - 22.5) Praise the lord for betting in running. |
